2015 Draft Prospects

From looking at the very early mock drafts, it looks like we will go O-line to upgrade RT, WR, and improve our pass rush. If Ray Farmer does as well this upcoming offseason as he did this year, the Browns will be tough. Farmer, NFL exec of the year.
 
I can see the RT situation unfolding as follows:

1. Fans clamor for the removal of Mitchell Schwartz.
2. Mike Pettine/Ray Farmer continue to shower him with unnoticed praise for being pretty steady and he continues as the starter for the foreseeable future.

We gave up sacks yesterday, it's not like Schwartz is John St. Clair or Tony Pashos!

please please please give a little more to your posts on college players. I love bringing them into discussions, but people are too lazy (me too usually) to figure out who you are talking about. No offense meant...

So for the rest of you who aren't privy, mr. Cannon has put up some extraordinary numbers so far this year, but they haven't been against any good competition (at least the teams they played, as I don't know if he torched anyone noteworthy).

2 games ago, against northwestern state christian A&M technical university of our lady piece, he went for 6 catches 223 yards and 3 touchdowns. It appears that the only thing that stopped him was the endzone. Here are 2 of his TD's (the first one shows really good balance, the 2nd one is the long one) EDIT: I can't embed from ESPN - somebody explain pls.



Last game, against buffalo, he only had 1 touchdown (/sarc), but yeah 6 catches and 189 yards. Jesus. Here's highlights: couldn't figure out embed. Here's a link to the highlights: http://espn.go.com/ncf/recap?id=400548106

Of course it's too early to tell but the little I've seen of Cannon makes me excited for his NFL future. The excitement starts with that blistering speed, he's already one of the fastest WRs in the nation as an 18-year-old. Cannon was the 4A 100 meter champion in Texas last year, he's already running sub 4.4 electronic 40s. To call him a deep threat isn't doing it justice, he's averaging an insane 33 yards a catch right now. The 81-yard TD against Buffalo made me shout "HOLY FUCK" at the bar last Friday, if anyone didn't watch the highlight natedogg posted he doesn't just beat his man down the field, he's already five steps ahead when he makes the catch. Just incredible. And despite only being two games in, that 81-yard catch isn't his longest of the season. He had an 89-yarder last week in his college debut.

Before the season he was a name I followed closely; he was a high four-star recruit that turned down some SEC powers (Florida, Texas A&M) to stay in-state as Baylor's highest rated recruit. He also impressed in the practices leading up to the Army All-American game, then looked like one of the West's best receivers in the game. I don't think anyone expected this big of an impact right away, despite being a perfect fit in the system Baylor returned 4 of their top 5 WRs going into the year. Briles couldn't keep a talent like Cannon off the field though, and he sure hasn't made his coach regret his decision.
 
From what I've seen this year and last year, Cooper from Alabama and Diggs from Maryland are on a separate tier than the other offensive playmakers, and this team needs playmakers badly. Lots of college ball to play, but I'm watching these two. If the team doesn't go wide receiver (PLEASE GO RECEIVER) with one of those top picks, I could see them going with a third shutdown corner. The nickel plays as much as a middle linebacker these days.

The only reason people will not harp on Jameis' off the field stuff as much as Johnny's, is because Jameis is the better NFL prospect.
