2015 Free Agency (Cavs Centric)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Miller isn't going anywhere unless we trade him or buy him out (which doesn't help us salary wise).
Maybe he rethinks and retires? Just does not look like he can play professional basketball and deep down he may realize it. Seems like a wasted roster spot since James Jones is giving us what we hope for with Miller. There was that brief few weeks where Miller looked decent, but he looks DONE.

He is done. I totally agree.

But I think he might feel he can get another $2m from some team somewhere; so, he'll likely go for it.

He surely won't retire for our benefit; he has no allegiance to Cleveland AFAIK, so he won't be doing us any favors.

We can waive him, or trade him, but either way he's going to get paid and he'll likely try to get some team to sign him for the vet min or part an exception.

I know... just hope we dont have as much dead weight at the end of the bench next year considering Andy and Irving's injury history. We need players 9-15 who can actually play if called upon.

I would like to add 2-3 players, with 2 who can actually break the regular rotation.
Adding guys like Jermey Lin or Rodney Stuckey, Kaun from Russia and a Justin Anderson in the draft would be great.

Again, I totally agree..

It's why I've been clamoring for us to revamp the end of our bench.

Haywood and our picks with one of our good-great role players should be used to bring in some additional starting quality talent.

Now's not really the time to discuss it though because folks are too emotionally invested in these particular players to think objectively.

I think after the series with the Warriors, people will be more willing to look at this roster and find ways to improve the team instead of everyone simply saying "max him out! yes, him too.. and him over there!"

We are very very lucky that James Jones and Deli have given us good minutes vs the Bulls and Hawks. I thought they would be a liability, but I think they have played over their heads and I would not want to count on those two playing major minutes going forward in the future. Love Deli as a third PG 9th to 12th guy in the rotation. A bit down on Joe Harris, he looks timid even in garbage time, and his lack of quickness makes me wonder if he will stick as an NBA player. His shot has to be spot on to play in this league, and he better learn to love without the ball, otherwise he is Europe bound.

Looks like we have at least three spots to fill. Perk, Matrix and Haywood. People have been unrealistic about the Haywood asset from the start. I would settle for a Mario Ellie (blast from the past) asset in return.

I may be crazy, but I look at the players who could be there at 24 and I could see a Justin Anderson, or The Pg from Utah making the regular rotation as early as next year. Also aton of cheap vets could be had, as there are a ton of expiring contracts.

Harris is the kind of guy that you can send to the Spurs and the coaching staff would turn him into a valuable player; think Danny Green. He has talent, he just needs to be developed.

Next year, I hope he gets ample playing time to start the season and if not, then he should be shipped out.

I really don't want us chasing high-seeds any more, I think we've demonstrated that seeding and home court are irrelevant. A team reliant on a 31-year old superstar and two potentially injury prone young superstars needs rest.

Again, I prefer the Spurs approach to the regular season. It matters only towards the end, and even then, it's not all that important.

I agree at some level, but you always want home court in a game 7 if the teams are close talent wise. We need to find a way to win games but have Irving, Andy and Love healthy for the post season. Not sure with Andy it is even possible. As Lebron gets older his ability to turn into superman in May will be less and less likely. Honestly, it looked like in January those days may have already been gone. Again I think Deli and JJ have shored up a very short bench with great minutes thus far, but it would not shock me to see them struggle vs the Warriors and show that our bench is still something that needs work. o

Karma at it's finest:chuckle: I don't care where he goes. If he leaves Miami I'll die of laughter

I'd be more concerned about him going to Chicago. He could be the leader they have been missing.

Maybe LeBron was telling him at Christmas that if the HEAT weren't good that Wade should join him in Cleveland for "bigger and better things?" :chuckle:
