2015 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
While I appreciate the comp to Miguel Sano at 19, and from a power perspective I totally get it.

Sano was also more advanced in terms of his plate discipline, as evidenced by his contact rates and BB ratio at the same level. Also, Sano is pegged at 3B whereas Bradley is 1B only.

When and if Bradley begins to figure that part of the game out, he'll rise up those prospect rankings. He has improved on his K rate in the second half, but his BB rate has dipped in that time as well.

We'll see what happens before I start comparing him to someone like Sano.

Wasn't comparing them as players by any means, just the sort of company he is in right now with his slugging #'s at such a young age...also, Sano had already played 2 years of pro ball before his age 19 season, to Bradley's 1, not to mention his whole life was probably centered around just baseball in the Dominican...I would expect him to be a little further ahead of Bradley at the same age.

On Bradley, I just don't feel he's going to be able to improve his strikeout ratio and start raking more doubles, while keeping his HR numbers the same.

I could very well be wrong--I just don't have faith in him.

I mean, you're entitled to your own opinion, but capping a 19 year old who is in his 1st full professional season is a little reactionary.

Had the same concerns with Frazier, that he K's too much and had yet to refine his approach and feel for the zone after 2 and a half seasons of pro ball, and he's blown those concerns away the 2nd half of his season so far. Dramatic drop in his K rate, spreading the ball around the field more...becoming a professional hitter. Those things take time, it's rare to find someone like that as a teenager, which is what makes the Trout's and the Harper's of the world so special.

Nellie Rodriguez with #2...been struggling mightily, hope it gets him going

Also, not sure why, but Bradley was pulled from the Captains game tonight on defense...not sure if he's hurt or if he's getting promoted, but it makes no sense to just randomly pull him late in a tied game.

Gabriel Mejia was moved up to Mahoning Valley today...final AZL stats: .357/.438/.417, 8 2B, 1 3B, 18 RBI, 41 R, 21 BB, 20 K, 34 SB, 10 CS (1st in hits, 1st in R, 1st in SB, 2nd in BA, 2nd in OBP, 4th in BB, 8th in OPS).

Huh didn't realize how much he was getting caught stealing. Let's see if any pop shows up outside of AZ.

Pretty much every time he got on base he was stealing 2nd and 3rd...you're going to get caught a bit when you do that.

Going to see Bobby hit #27 tonight. $9 baseball can't beat it. (Better be in lineup)
Since when are LC tickets $9? Are those lawn seats? If so go track down his HR chart so you know where to sit.

Every ticket is $9. Or was when I bought my last tickets.

Tonight it showed $10

But I sat behind home plate for $9, I wouldnt lie, tonight I'm by 1st trying for foul balls
Oh cool. I know the last game I went they were $12 for a day game. Must charge more for day of. Do note next Thursday is midget wrestling at Akron.

Oh and the trick for foul balls is to bring children. Last time I took the niece n nephews all 3 got one from different players.

So.... Jarrett Grube. Mexican League signee. Mainly due to paucity of upper minors pitching. Has always had a good K rate. Not sure what his stuff is but he misses bats. Interesting guy.

Sam Hentges had 9 Ks in 5 IP yesterday. K rate has been fantastic so far.

Jonas Wyatt, one of the diminutive fire ballers from this last draft, had 4 wild pitches in three innings. That's pretty scary.
