Zimmer hit his 4th tonight. I think the Indians might move him through the minors more aggressively than usual-- he's really good and most agree he should've gone higher in the draft than he did. He probably goes top 10 if he showed this power....

He was going to move up fast regardless. 3 year college position players taken high in the draft usually do (Naquin was in Akron after 1 full year). The fact that we're going to be needing a new CF in a season or 2 will also speed him up a bit. I also think out of the multiple 1st round CFs they have taken recently (him, Naquin, Frazier), he is the one who sticks at that position.

Also, to go along with his 4 HRs, he is putting up a slash of .324/.422/.649 and already has 5 stolen bases in 10 games. Striking out a bit too much, but also taking his fair share of walks. He has a special makeup with his size and speed.

I meant that I think they move him faster than a guy like Naquin. Naquin spent 100+ games in Adv. A and most high-end college guys seem to get the called up to AA around the 60 game mark. The Indians tend to take a more conservative approach for their call-ups but Zimmer might be different. Heard he made a huge impact on the FO in spring training.

He also hit 4 HR's in spring training so he has 8 total HR's this year. He hit 7 HR's all of last year and that's what gave scouts pause in the draft....

Yeah, I don't know what happened to the rest of what I said that 1st paragraph, but it had to do with Frazier, a prep school pick, playing nearly double the games Naquin had played before moving to AA and has still only made it to high A ball. Whole point is college players tend to move up faster, but you are right, I think they move Zimmer faster than Naquin, but not as fast as we saw with Crockett. He should be in Akron the last few months of this season.

If the power is legit then the Tribe got a steal in Zimmer. Putting up some very good number so far. A Tribe 1st rounder producing from day 1... Be still my soul...

Also Bobby Bradley got busted down to Mahoning Valley after getting pulled from the game on Saturday. I thought I remember there being some anger issues or Something last year with him. Not good....

Ah ok. The circumstances were just bizarre- got pulled from the field but then got demoted. The first signals it was an injury, the 2nd says more. Pretty sure milb rosters are fluid enough that a guy doesn't have to be demoted to rest him for an injury. I wonder.

Roster gymnastics, since MV isn't playing they can simply demote him there instead of a DL stint.

Hey b00bie...I don't think I've heard your thoughts on Greg Allen...very intriguing guy for me seeing how he is a switch hitting leadoff man with a lot of speed and gets on base at a good clip. He is facing a logjam at his position throughout the organization, plus I'm guessing Lindor will eventually be the long term leadoff man at the MLB level, so he's in a weird position. Eventual trade bait? Or can you see him sticking with the club and forcing some of the guys in front of him to different positions?

I think he's a future fourth or fifth (if he's traded to the NL) outfielder with the potential to develop into a starter. His walk rate is impressive and by all accounts his defense is going to allow him to play all three spots without much drop-off.

You'd like to see him develop any sort of gap power and use his speed to turn singles into doubles, doubles to triples, etc. Already 22 in Low-A as well, will be interesting to see if they'll send him to Lynchburg once they promote Zimmer sometime this summer.

Swisher went 3-for-5 with an RBI in his return.

Lindor went 4-for-5 with a SB to push his average up to .263

Lindor went 4-6 in the doubleheader today. .302 BA now.

Also, Dace Kime had his best start of his career. 7 IP, 2 H, 12 Ks. Nellie Rodriguez hit his 1st 2 HRs. Zimmer is hitting .322. Naquin returned to action. Minors teams went 6-0 today.
