2015 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Silver linings.

Probably time to start paying attention to what Adam Plutko is doing with Lynchburg.

1.13 ERA and 1ER or less in each of his four starts, just three walks in 23+ innings.

He could move up pretty soon, as could Bradley Zimmer. He's up to .322 now, but still needs to cut down on the strikeouts.

When can Lindor be called up with worrying about the extra year?

Pretty sure its already passed...a full service year is being at the MLB level for 172 days. I believe we are already passed that point...that's why Bryant and Russell are up now with the Cubs.

I know I thought so too. But someone was arguing with me the other day that Lindor had a different number. Can someone confirm or deny that?

Why would he have a different number for his service time? Whoever tried to sell you that is full of BS.

Big thing is avoiding making him a Super 2, which is why I've been saying we won't see him until June/July unless Ramirez gets hurt.

The Super Two is about paying said player four years of arbitration pay instead of the standard three.

The Indians are in essence saving themselves money.

Larry Dolan just felt a pleasant shiver go up his spine...

Bradley Zimmer through 70 ABs at Lynchburg:

.357/ .452/ .586/ 1.038

So much smoother through the zone than he was in college, really good improvement thus far.

Do scouts (or you) think the new found power is legit or just an early season anomaly?

It may have been about someone else, but I could have sworn I read somewhere that he added some weight over the off season. One of the knocks on him coming out was that he is too wiry. Guy is 6'4/6'5 and was listed at 185 last year, so he's a rail. Add 10 to 15 lbs of muscle on him and we could be in business with him with some legit, sustainable power (I think he is very similar to Brantley at the dish...high OBP guy with a smooth swing with few holes in it for pitchers to exploit).

I still think out of all the recent 1st round picks at CF in the system (Ramsey, Naquin, Frazier), he is the one who sticks in CF.

I always thought the power would come, it's hard NOT to see it developing given his stature and swing.

Definitely buying it.

Already a month in, so I'll post players stats this weekend at some point
