2015 MLB Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He had surgery March 25th.

Won't pitch this year, won't be rushed by the organization in 2016. Certainly on an innings limitation and will be shut down at some point anyway.

I think he can wind up in High-A by the end of the season, provided there are no further set-backs from what is rumored to be a not-so-ordinary Tommy John procedure.

Right, which is why i said i thought he had the issues and the surgery before, when contract talks with houston broke down. and he wont be rushed by the organization, there was talk he would have made Houstons rotation this year he had he signed and been healthy because he's that good and that advanced. he also had the same surgery done by the guy who did Carlos Carrasco's surgery, plus a week before the draft he finally let teams see his medical report and word is it was all good news

Indians dont make this pick if they dont think he's not going to be as good as he was before the surgery or that he wouldnt sign. That doesn't change the fact Aiken wont see much Minor league baseball, players with his stuff, control and makeup only come along in guys like Kershaw, Strausberg, Fernandez etc types. He'll be full time in the rotation by the time he's 21 (2016), i would bet my life savings on it.

Many months after the contract talks broke down.

Also before the surgery.

Sounds like a really safe bet.

A high-school lefty...coming off Tommy John surgery...who has thrown about 2 innings since his high school career ended in 2014...is going to rehab his surgery, debut and rise to the big leagues before he's shut down in 2016.

Good luck!

it is a safe bet, wouldn't have been drafted if it wasn't. But ill let you to continue to troll on ignore.

Probably right, the Indians would never draft someone if they weren't ready to play in the big leagues the following year.

I think it's a safe bet you're a former b00bie rival that got banned and came back via proxy.

And you would be as wrong. as for the draft instead of making personal attacks towards me, I think the Indians should sign at least 8 out of their top 10 picks, i think Wyatt could turn down the Indians, Hillman is hard to guess, He's a bit like last years Justice Sheffield in terms of stuff and polish, but you wonder if he's going to pick up velocity and how much, however he was good enough in HS to get offered by Vandy.

i really like the Garza pick, i think he could be a quick rister similiar to Finnegan in KC, the Indians also liked him enough to draft him twice.

Ryan Perez is interesting since he can pitch with both hands, doesn't mean he will be any good but it helps his chances.

20th round pick Luke Wakamatsu would be great if they could get him to sign, was a top 100 prospect but fell because most think he's a lock for college. 6'3 180 3B/SS who's father is a manager in KC, very advanced hit and fielding skills.

Maybe my second favorite player in the draft behind Aiken is Benge.

Garrett Benge is another kid who would be a fanastic kid to pull from college, he was unstoppable at the plate at CC batting over .500 with an over .600 OBP, he also put up 20 HR and 100 RBI, but he might be harder to sign then Wakamatsu.

Overall i dont think its a great full class for the tribe, i think they went into a plan this year to get 2-3 guys they saw with high upside, and another 4 or 5 with MLB potential and went with safe and cheap signs the rest of the way to try to sign those 8 or so guys.

Doubt it.

Wrong.

Wait. Someone is saying a guy who just had major surgery is going to be in the minors less than a season next year, but not because he is going to be shut down because, you know, he just decimated a ligament in his throwing elbow, but because he is going to be in the majors? Really? And that guy is a teenager who isn't going to play competitively for over a full calendar year? Maybe if it was 1904.

So your choosing to ignore the part where i very, very clearly stated i thought he had the injury last summer when contract talks broke down? great reading skills. some people just live lives so utterly worthless they have nothing left but trolling a message board.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Marko.

Geezee. Can't we simply agree to disagree about stuff without all the bickering? We all have our own opinions about things. Some of them might be more relevant than others because of experience, etc, but everyone of us has the right to our own opinions,... that's why they are called opinions.

Let's be nice.

I'm failing to understand how the date of his injury matters when the date of his surgery was March 25th. He's not going to magically have less recovery time because the injury occurred before or after his discussions with the Astros.

Science.

While you were away on hiatus, this guy has made multiple screen names and trolls every now and again. His posting style is too obvious to miss, for some of those who were here for it. Swisher33 I think was one of his handles last time.

Eventually he'll go way overboard and get run off...again.
