2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Reserves for the East:

Kyrie
Butler
Bosh
Horford
Millsap
Korver
Drummond

Reserves for the West:

Duncan
Durant (starting for Kobe)
Westbrook
Aldridge
Paul
Lillard
Thompson
Howard

Ugh, what? James Harden is missing from both the starting line-up and reserve list.

EDIT: Nm, I see that's Colin's personal list for reserves. But, again, no James Harden so something has to give there.

Highly surprised KD wasn't voted a starter, even with the injury. Kobe definitely shouldn't be. Kobe is hurt so hopefully he will withdraw and let Harden start. Out of Kyrie and Love, I think one of them will definitely not make it. I'd guess Love, and plus Kyrie is built for All Star game and could easily be the most entertaining player on the floor. Be a shame if he didn't make it.

It is too bad at least one Hawk isn't starting, but I think Melo should withdraw since he missed time and the Knicks suck. Give someone new a chance.

It is going to be a very interesting All Star game this year. Many new faces.

No Harden? No DMC?

The only reason that Melo is playing right now is so that he can have a few more games under him heading into the ASG. He'll be done for the year before March. If the game was anywhere but New York than he wouldn't be playing.

I'd like to see Kevin Love be the MVP of resting his back come the Break.

No Harden? No DMC?

Oh shit. I just assumed that Harden was starting. Fucking Kobe.

OK, take that list, swap Harden in for Lillard and DMC for Howard.

Sorry guys, Harden just kind of slipped my mind.

I think your East list is very similar to mine. Only adjustment I would probably make would be:

Teague over Horford
Maybe Knight over Bosh, if only because I think the Bucks deserve a spot over the Heat

I'd love to see Love in there, but I think you need to be dominant to deserve three all stars, and we aren't dominant yet.

Also, I thin the Hawks might end up biting themselves in the foot. I think Teague is the consensus, but I think enough coaches will divide their votes on one or two of Horford, Millsap and Korver that it might dilute their overall votes and only two might get in because of it.

Lamarcus out for 6-8 weeks. That opens up another spot.

I'm pretty sure Kobe will be out for a while, so I don't think he will play.

I can't really see how you put Korver in the all star game, even as a reserve. I know ATL has been ballin', but he's still only averaging 13 points, albeit on 51% shooting and 53 from down town. still though, those are not all star numbers those are incredibly efficient role player numbers. I would not have Korver in the game at all.

Reminds me of when Mo Williams made the game. He was scoring more than Korver, but ultimately he was a role-player, and they don't really have a place in All-Star games. I want guys who are going to put on a show. Korver is not one of those guys, great role-player though he may be.

I know. That's why I had 8 reserves for the West. One of them has to take Kobe's spot. And now that LMA is out, the West needs another reserve.

While he may be a role player, he's having the single GREATEST shooting season any player has ever had. Ever. In NBA history. 52/53.5/92. He's shooting 53.5% on 6 threes a game. If a guy is having an historic season, to me, that trumps his role player status.

Here's something else to think about - since Kyrie wasn't voted in as a starter a second time, he isn't eligible for the Derrick Rose rule supermax. This could be huge in terms of financials for the team over the next few years.
