2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who will replace Wade? Knight?

I never get upset about anything all-star weekend related. It's just not worth it and honestly to get upset about it sort of misses the point of the entire event.

That said, only one player who truly didn't deserve to make a team made it and he was voted in by the fans and that's Kobe.

Everyone else has a case to be in. Cousins has great numbers, but his team is a shit show. That's life in the West. You wanna make the team then winning is a part of the equation. Oh well.

If I were king, would I have picked these teams exactly like this? No. But I'm not gonna pretend that I know more than the NBA coaches who coach for and against these players every night. There's a reason the coaches chose Duncan over Cousins, and it isn't because they are star struck.

The West's frontcourt of Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, and Marc Gasol is just nasty.

I agree that Tim Duncan shouldn't have made it but honestly I think that spot should've gone to Zach Randolph as opposed to Boogie Cousins. His numbers are crazy and his team is dominating in the West.

Rumor going around that Boogie the best center in the league btw was left off cause coaches hate how Malone was treated. Which is weird cause cousins loved Malone and shouldn't be punished.

My gripes:

- Korver instead of Wade (even though he'll likely be his injury replacement)
- Vucevic instead of Bosh (they're both on bad teams, and Bosh has missed a lot of time)
- Randolph instead of Duncan (no knock on Duncan, Zach just deserves it more)
- Have Mike Conley as Kobe's replacement

Oh, and Melo and Kobe being voted in as starters is a complete joke, but that is for another day.

I actually heard the opposite. I heard he garnered some votes because of how he publicly backed Malone after Sacramento fired him for some bullshit.

Cousins should definitely be on there. If you watch the Kings he has been dominant when healthy. It goes beyond stats, he's just emerging into one of those guys who can take over a game.

Disagree. Tim has somehow played 6 more games than Z-Bo, and he's putting up better all-around numbers. He's been the one consistent player for San Antonio, which is remarkable given his age.

In the end, the West is just so damn deep. There are more guys deserving than there are spots.

I wouldn't say he's putting up better all-around numbers than Z-Bo, but Duncan still has been remarkable given that he is 38 years old.

Duncan: 30.3 MPG, 14.7 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.0 SPG, 2.0 BPG, .486 FG%, 72 FT% in 42 games (22.03 PER)
Randolph: 32.5 MPG, 17.1 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.2 BPG, .513 FG%, 74 FT% in 36 games (21.66 PER)

Okay, let's start this debate.

Who should of gotten in -- Damian Lillard or Mike Conley?

I want Conley in as the roster replacement for Kobe. Better defender and distributor than Lillard, and it's not like he's a slouch on offense either.

Neither. Who do they replace? Harden, Paul, Thompson and Westbrook are the guards. All four are legitimate all-stars. Durant, Duncan, and Aldridge are the forwards. Don't think you take either of those guys over those three.

Now if you're talking Kobe replacement, you probably go with Lillard. Although, I don't know. You're basically splitting hairs at this point.
