2015 NBA Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
so what does Portland do now
PG Damian Lilliard, Diante Garrett
SG CJ Mccollum, Gerald henderson, Allen Crabbe
SF Al Faraq Aminue,
PF Mson Plumlee, Noah vonleh
C Myers Leonard, Chris Kaman

Free agent targeting : Rasual Butler
Top remaining Free agents
Reggie Jackson, Lou Williams, Rodney Stuckey, Josh Smith, Jordan hill, Dorell Wright, etc

Does Portland try to fill out the roster with veteran gleadership and go straight to tank mode or do they try and field a competitive team with the same results only a worse draft pick

Edit and as soon as i post this Stuckey goes to indiana

What can Portland really do? There aren't really any veteran leaders on the market who are going to a Portland team that just lost four out of their five starting players. Unless they work out some fancy trades, I think they're looking down the barrel of a rebuild. Lillard isn't good enough to carry the team alone.

$80 million for Reggie Jackson? Really?

Reggie Jackson is pretty good, without being great. That's a f*ckload of cheddar.

They struggle to make the playoffs and suck balls for a few years.

By the way, RHJ was drafted by Brooklyn not Portland.

Myles Turner has been BALLING in Orlando so far.

Really good skillset for a big man. Looks like a young Bosh

I was sold ever since I saw the highlights from his first college game and he busted the one leg Dirk fadeaway. If a guy has as smooth a shot as he does while being 7 feet tall and a very good shotblocker, thats just about the perfect skillset for today's NBA.

I thought his ceiling was actually more like LMA. Charlotte is going to look back 4 years from now and really shake their head they passed on him for Kaminski.

Good call on the comp...

His skillset is RIDICULOUS for a man of his size at this stage in his development. If he can show all of this now, as he gets stronger and polished like most big men do, he will really look good

I liked Kaminski yesterday as well, but he is not close to the kind of prospect Turner is looking like right here.

Shit

Just curious do you also like Johnson long term more then Winslow. I think Detroit made the right call.

I do... Johnson looked hesitant in the first 5 mins of action off the bench, but then he seemed to settle and everyone else followed his lead. He has some vets on that Det squad, so thats pretty big for a 19 yr old to take the reigns like he did. That little Dleague guard was getting into a pissing match with Wilbekin, and I watched Johnson reign him in without being demonstrative. Good leadership for a kid. He was EASILY the best player on either team

Want to see he and Winslow head to head with their respective SL teams. Winslow looks solid, filled his stat sheet, but not nearly as much presence for the first day as Johnson. Also, Winslow looked strictly like a 2, with a unreliable jumper... Johnson looks like he guard 1-3 right now and has the body to play some small ball 4 and guard a few of those too

Second game against the Clippers yesterday... he really took off from tip and looked even better than the first game. Gimme Johnson over Winslow long term for now.

Stanley Johnson, Myles Turner and Aaron Gordon have been my most impressive guys after these first few days in ORL

Also... I dont see a difference between Norris Cole and Keith Appling. Honestly. Very crafty and under control 3rd string PG who can pressure the ball and run a team. And we all know how well Izzo develops his guys to be pro players, albeit late bloomers. They play pro-level defense in East Lansing. I'd take a flyer on him...

Been disappointed in my Tar Heel PJ Hairston in the two games I have watched... he's trying to initiate for Charlotte more and he is only a pure scorer. Too small not to be able to run some point or be a versatile guard in this league. He hasnt made the game easier for any of the other guys on his team and thats a shame at this level.

Also, been disappointed in Mitch McGary so far. I expected him to dominate at this level with how energized he looked in the instant big off the bench role last year in OKC, and he seems content to just be a energy guy even at this level. Looks like more Tyler Hansborough than Enes Kanter after a few games so far this summer.
