The Royals man. I am actually rooting for them a little bit.

I'm hoping for KC to be eliminated as I don't want them to have extra revenue to re-sign Shields.

Yeah, playoff revenues will have very little effect.

Them advancing would allow that? I doubt that.

Maybe revenue is the wrong word to use. Would a World Series appearance put more pressure on KC to re-sign him though? Absolutely.

I would go a long ways towards getting KC fans to show back up again, that is for sure. I think they have already guaranteed a ticket bounce for next year as it is. Kansas City was a good baseball town before the team went into the tank, so I guess we see.

If anything, it will make KC more willing to spend more knowing that it actually produced results and was worth it. Even if they lose Shields though, I'm sure they could find a decent replacement and still be fine.

The only thing it will depend on is whether Shields gets offered more by a larger market team.

Nobody needs to see the end of season results to know re-signing him will be a higher priority.

This is, unfortunately, what it comes down to. Someone will get stupid with him, Scherzer and Lester. I think KC could afford though to find a next tier guy, although I have no idea who the 'next tier' guys are.

Honestly, Masterson is probably a good pickup for Kansas City just as much if not more than Cleveland.

Spending half of what they would on Shields in hopes of a bounce back year under Dave Eiland could be a great move for them.

Royals gonna go to the WS. Unfuckingbelievable...

Got to say, I'm fully on their bandwagon.

I think they get smoked by San Francisco, though.

LOL not with Ned Yost on their side, sorry.

No, really, with the way the Royals are pitching and playing defense- I think they ahve more than a chance, and I can't see them getting run out of there. They have the experience, but then KC has also been winning dragged-out games in this posteason, too. I think it is a pretty good matchup.
