2015 Series #23 -|- Rays vs. Indians -|- June 19th, 20th, and 21st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Michael Bourn has some of the worst AB's you'll ever see.

Did anyone think for even one second he was doing anything other than striking out there?

Hey; I hope he does turn it around. I just don't see the point actually. He's never really had a defensive position. I guess he could be strictly a DH one day but he says he could never do it. I've always thought of him as a football linebacker of sorts. He just seems out of place on a baseball diamond.

This is his 1st year as a full-time 1B, which isn't exactly an easy position to just jump into...again, I'm not willing to say he is what he is defensively just yet.

Anyways, guy is a career .246/.367/.437 player who averages 20+ HRs, 80+ RBIs, and 100+ BBs for 162 games and is just entering his prime, you gotta play him somewhere with so many defensive black-holes on the team.

Santana fits right in with this team.

Although the Tribe can't seem to get over .500 at the moment, I really am starting to like this team and how it's shaping.

Love the fact they brought up two young guys in the system that are working out already.

Obviously they still have some weaknesses, but I think they turn it around here soon.

I think if the Tribe can make their way to .500 or a game or two above by the ASG, they have a decent chance to make a run or at least keep things interesting through September.

Just keep me going until Buckeyes football.

I don't know exactly who you replace Santana with, though. We have almost no high minor league depth that is quality ready to take a spot in either RF or 1B, and Swisher is worse than Santana...

Right now, you just have to eat it until one of the minor leaguers is ready. Pray to god that someone like Bobby Bradley can save that position.

Honestly...I may rather have Jerry Sands at 1B than Santana right now...especially if Santana could provide a decent bullpen arm for the Indians.

I get that Santana has great OBP and bounced back in terms of average and power in the second half last year.

But this is now two years in a row where his lack of even decent power and average in that 3-4-5 spot he gets shuttled around in has mightily contributed to us digging ourselves in very big holes to start the season.

I know its not fair to pin that all on him but he is supposed to be one of those main guys on this team and he occupies a spot in the lineup where you expect/need that type of production.

Its great that he himself gets on base a lot but in the first half the past two years, he is a rally killer so many times with guys on base.

We either need to find another middle of the order bat to take on that responsibility level for him(acknowledging that he still does good stuff with his OBP) or we need to deal him along with prospects to an organization that values OBP highly and would take Santana plus very good prospects for a true god average, middle of the lineup slugger.

Yeah I been feeling this as well. You look at him and say what a beast no way we upgrade or downgrade him ect... Then I think he has been nothing but a long swinging average fielder. It seems he has not learned how to approach hitting as well as he should have. He is patient but he still has the same approach as he did last year. I have no idea what to do with him all I can do is hope he snaps out of this or learns he can not rely on power alone.

The Indians brought up Urshela and Lindor at the exact right time. The team has been very bad on the eyes to watch before. I was worried about what sports on TV I was going to use my spare time to watch this summer before football started. I was not feeling the Tribe at all. Now I am. The young kids give us a good feeling. They play baseball like it's truly fun. It is fun. We didn't really have anyone out there playing like they really enjoy playing. Now we do. Kipnis and Brantley seem to but that's about it.

I don't see the Indians making the playoffs this year. Hope they do, but just don't see it. With a good part of a season behind them, Urshela and Lindor might be real special come next year.

I'd off the ball for millions on EBAY, that ball can take care the rest of your life.
