Can the Indians get close enough to Wild Card contention to pull me back in and keep me thoroughly entertained until college football?

probably

It seems like every team in the AL is within reach of a WC spot....at least a few weeks ago. I haven't been paying attention to the standings.

Either way....it would be nothing short of a miracle if this team made a push in the playoffs with the way they hit....let alone make the playoffs.

I called my shot, yes! 13 games vs Minnesota, and a handful vs Angels.

They're five games back of the second wild card slot.

Now that doesn't sound bad at first, but these teams are ahead of them in the WC chase.

Chicago
Detroit
Texas
Tampa Bay
Toronto
Baltimore
Minnesota (currently in 2nd)
Los Angeles (currently in 1st)

Detroit is dwindling (making my bet look great). I honestly can't see Minnesota hanging on there. Not this season. Los Angeles is legit. Toronto made those moves. Baltimore's not bad. Tampa's offense is inept, but their pitching has been really good. Haven't followed Texas much this year.

If anything we fall flat behind Toronto getting the 2nd one, but I'll live with it this year. Too much bullshit all season, I'll accept them battling their tails off.

Toronto just seems so good right now. Sexy pick no doubt.

It's not like anyone else in the wild card slot is lighting it up either. The Indians just have to be consistent, and win nearly every series left if they want to get that final wild card slot.

They have the pitching to do it. Their hitting just can't be completely lifeless.
