Speaking of Donaldson...another homer for both him and Edwin. To say the Indians have a tough 3 days coming up would be an understatement.

You realize Donaldson would essentially have to go hit-less in September for Brantley to catch up to him on most of the stats that are now widely considered for MVP voting, right? The difference between 7.3 WAR and 3.6 is monumental....I don't even think Donaldson going 0-fer in September while Brantley producing at his normal rate would allow Brantley to catch him...Donaldson and Trout are on another planet this year. And Brantley isn't even going to have a better year than he did last year, when he didn't win MVP.

Fair enough. You're right, he has virtually no chance.

I just wanted to confess my man love for Brantley though. It's still staggering the guy can lead the league in hitting, doubles, while not completely healthy, and having not great production behind him to keep him protected.

I mean Trout has fucking Pujols behind him and no disrespect to Santana, he sure as hell ain't that.

Don't worry, I like Brantley too, but I think its pretty crazy to even mention him with the MVP award when he isn't even the MVP of his own team up to this point.

I will say this though, he has a great shot at adding another Silver Slugger to his trophy case.
