2015 Series #8 -|- Indians vs. Blue Jays -|- April 30th, May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

2018 should be sick!!!

Rest of the division improved in the off-season and we essentially stood pat with the guys we had (other than Moss). It is no surprise that we have fallen behind like this.

The offense hasn't hit consistently for years, but instead of improving it the Dolans keep making Shaponetti shop at the Salvation Army/Unique thrift every off-season.

Tito Francona is the only thing that has kept this from being a 70 win team the past 2 years. One guy can only do so much though. There just isn't alot of talent on this team outside of the starting pitching.

Brantley is a stud. You can't say that about anyone else on this team - maybe Gomes.

Kipnis is decent but I think that all-star half-season was an enigma.

Bourn is over the hill.

Ramirez is lucky to be playing major league ball.

Santana is just.....disappointing.

Murphy and Raburn are good vets off the bench for a L/R switch.

Chisenhall has potential but seems out of place.

Moss would be better off on a better team.

Santana is disappointing? How exactly? Him and Brantley are the only two players on team who can actually get on base. They do it in different ways, but it's still valuable.

I think they should consider having Santana hit lead off, with Brantley right behind him at #2. Or if they're content with Kipnis at lead off, put Santana at #2, and Brantley stays in the three spot. Either way, I think the lineup should be constructed to give Brantley an opportunity to drive in Santana, given his superior hitting skill, and Santana being the only other guy on the team who gets on base consistently.

Santana is way too slow to be an effective leadoff hitter. Sure, he can get on base. But there's a good chance he's just going to stay there by the time the inning is over.

Why do you have to have speed to be a lead off hitter? The only burners the Indians have never get on base.

Uh... Apart from the first inning, hitting Santana 2nd just duplicates the same lineup order of Bourn, Kipnis, and Santana. I'm not sure what difference that makes apart from inning 1.

Disappointing how the pitching has struggled. Looks like the Mickey Callaway personality cult might be shattered. Shame too bc the bats look to be coming around.

Grand.
Slam.

The point is to have Brantley hit behind Santana. So I guess if they wanted they could put Brantley 4th and Santana 3rd, but that will lower the amount of at-bats Brantley gets throughout the year, hence having them bat earlier than that in the order.

Pitching is all about adjustments. The more tools a pitcher has in his belt and the more adjustments he can make, the more successful he'll be. It's why I think Bauer will be leading this rotation in 2-3 years. He has all the tools, he's figuring out how to put it together.

Poor, inconsistent hitting will always frustrate me more (and is way more painful to watch as a fan) than inconsistent pitching.

WHY WON'T THE FANS COME TO THE GAMES?

They've struggled a bit as of late, partly due to Gomes being out, partly due to poor fielding, and partly due to the pressure of having to be perfect with our flaws in the field, at the plate, and in the bullpen, but as a whole they are top five so far in MLB in FIP. Hardly a disappointment.

Indians don't have speed anyways. I'd agree with Santana leading off because he's good for a walk or at least puts the ball in play, and it takes him out the cleanup where he's struggled with RISP. Also, he's no slow poke either he does have some average maybe below baserunning speed.

Something has to be fixed because it is broken right now.
