2015 Spring Training Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Meaningless: Kluber looked like ass last ST I believe and got rocked his first outing.

I wonder why or how that happens. I know pitchers don't show it all in ST, but that just fascinates me.

House would have ended up in the rotation somehow though. Hurts the SP depth. But I honestly want TJ House in the rotation, and I think with Floyd healthy there was no chance he would have been. Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, House, Salazar is looking like our opening day rotation now.
Really hurts our depth, though. Now if someone gets hurt or struggles its going to have to be Chen, Marcum or a move to the rotation of McAllister or Tomlin. Ugh.

Soler, Baez and Bryant going back-to-back-to-back against Trevor Bauer.

And I'm not going to lie, none of them were Arizona homers. Absolute bombs.

Really exciting future there in Chicago, and those three are a huge part of it.

I hate to predict who fails, primarily because it's easy since mostc prospects do, but I think Baez flames out. Yes he young but msn he had every flaw exposed last year. I just feel like I've seen him before, lots of physical talent but crap approach n big holes in the swing. Will see if I'm wrong. Bryant and Solar, though, those guys I love. Boston Midwest did it right- suck for a few years, spend liberally on the draft, avoid gingers. Spend your money and spare prospects on starters to fill it out. Gonna look good and soon.

Also I wish I was smart at science n could show Trevor Bauer how despite the human eye having .01 second less or whatever to react to a high pitch he is also dealing with .00001% of the population, a group that effectively represents an outlier of the population and just might be able to still identify n smoke the shit out of high fastballs. I just dont get why he ignores 80 years of data when it comes to mixing up your location being a good idea against the best hitters in the world.

Baez swings like a dude who is going to hit .220 with 30 bombs.

Absolutely agree he's not as good as advertised without learning some semblance of discipline.

Ok so why should they wait until later in the year to call him up?

He has 180 ABs on AAA. They don't want his service clock to start too early. And it's not like Ramirez played poorly during his time last year.

At what day can they bring him up without starting his service clock this year.

There is no set day- super two status is a percentage of all players who have between 2 and 2.9999 years service time. Clubs usually feel that by June they are ok.

I also think that Ramirez' play will be a factor here too. If he is doing well at SS no need to rush up Lindor. If not then you take a shot.
