2016 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I understand that if we want to contend its got to happen from within, they're not desperate to bring in outside help. Which I am, but I'm always wanting a top FA.

Upton just reminds me of the Ryan Raburn signings of the past.

Your alternative seems to be adding Justin Upton, a 3 oWAR player.

If Mitch Moreland, a 2 oWAR player, doesn't improve wins, Upton's effect will be minimal as well.

Not really seeing much of a difference, in terms of wins.

If the Indians want to win, they'll need Urshela, Chisenhall, Ramirez and Santana to progress/rebound.

One power hitter isn't going to be the end all.

I've seen people speculate about adding Josh Reddick which might be interesting.

Unrelated to Reddick - but I sort of wonder if they need to quit chasing power and just try to find another good hitter in the Brantley/Kipnis model (not saying AS GOOD as them - but more that they are valuable hitters that doesn't rely on power.)

Just seems like we keep cycling through the Branyan, Reynolds, Moss types and it keeps failing. Santana is somewhat similar in that regard.

We just can't seem to string together any rallies with this roster. Maybe one more guy who puts the ball in play helps more than hoping a guy comes in and hits 30 HRs.

I'd shit my pants if we got Goldy...literally the perfect player for the team...but man would it take a haul...soon to be MVP on a favorable contract until 2019...might have to toss in even more

Carrasco is also under contract until 2019. Cy Young potential on a team desperately in need of pitching, whereas the Indians are desperate for offense.

The D-Backs are an interesting organization, so I'm just throwing it out there.

Goldy comes in at $5.8M next year, the Indians could conceivably add a higher level starting pitcher on a short-term deal to fill the Carrasco void.

I know they are insane...the whole Bauer deal, trading Gregorius away like right after, Touki Toussaint just to shed Arroyo...but this is Goldschmidt man...guy is on another planet right now...can see him being untouchable.

They mentioned he was brought up in negotiations with the Padres around the deadline.

That let me know that he wasn't off the table. Even though I don't really think he was involved.

You said it though, they're a bit crazy. Maybe a whole lot of crazy.

First deal I do in a heartbeat.

Second deal I'm not sure, mostly because I don't know much about Strickland. I do really like Brandon Belt though.

I actually wanted to throw out Goldy's name as a perfect fit, but thought I would get blasted.

He seriously is the guy the Indians need. At a position of need, on a team that needs what we have a lot of (controllable pitching). We might be able to simplify your trade suggestion and swap Collmenter in for Corbin.

Do we have any Mexican-born players on the team that we can deal to Arizona? They're on the prowl to find a Mexican national to put on their team to "have an impact" on the field and in marketing. Oh, and they're looking for a Japanese guy too. Can't make this shit up...... It was printed, in an actual newspaper too.

I guess the whole Goldschmidt thing came up when the Diamondbacks inquired on Craig Kimbrell. Preller asked for Goldschmidt, supposedly in jest, and then Dave Stewart ran to the media and said Preller asked for Goldschmidt in return for Kimbrell. I don't know why Stewart would do that to a fellow GM....amateur hour over there.

I love Corbin, btw. But I'd also love for us to try and fix Matt Moore too....

Matt Moore in 2011 was the best young lefty I'd ever seen.

I'd never seen such an easy 96-97, and he had the offspeed to be elite.

Then his arm blew up and he hasn't found it yet. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
