2017 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would be surprised if they move up to draft any of these QBs early. Honestly, I think a home run draft would be Garrett #1, OJ Howard #12, the best DB on the board at the top of the 2nd and with the other 2nd rounder: take BPA.

If we want to take a QB like Dobbs or Webb 3rd round or later, ok fine but don't use any of the 1st 4 picks with QBs. I like Trubisky and if we had to take one, I wouldn't lose my shit if they took him. Just prefer we don't because these guys I don't think are top line starters.

This is pretty much where I am too.

Garrett #1
Howard is fine at #12 (tho my preference is any of Conley, Adams, Hooker)
top of 2nd best DB
2nd 2nd, BPA

Then take a project QB if you like... I am ok with Dobbs, or Kizer if he somehow drops.

If they took Trubisky at 12, I wouldn't be pissed, but I just don't think he is worth that spot.

I'm going to want to distill the inevitable extreme butthurt from Grossi and McManamon when this team doesn't take a QB in the first three rounds and inject it in my veins.

Damn, the range on some of these guys rivals Freddie Mercury!

Interesting...thanks.

Oh, yay. ESPN Live Mock-Draft.

Let's see how much they fuck it up.

I really want Obi there with our 33rd pick so bad.

Looking at the mock to go up from 12 to 5 would take more than a 2018 second round pick and no way Cleveland trades up twice. The organization's plan will not allow two trades ups early in the draft especially since the Difference between the Harvard chart and the Johnson chart is a lot. Cleveland makes their moves with a mixture of the two charts plus more than likely a certain grade on each player. I think at the end of the day sure they will be happy with who they got, but with so many holes it would hurt this team to draft that way, would hurt the team in the long run.

My Personal Mock Draft! I'll put it in quotes so it doesn't take up a lot of space, but you guys can skip it, but this is what I think will happen

1st Pick Cleveland: DE Myles Garret
He is the best player available, so Cleveland has no reason to skip on him for Trubisky

2nd Pick San Fran: DE Solomon Thomas
They are looking to move out of this pick, but it doesn't seems likely they will be able to, so they need help on defense and he is the best player available so they go with Thomas

3rd pick Chicago Bears: S Jamal Adams
To me the Bears like San Fran want to move out of the 3rd spot, but there isn't a good trade partner, so once again they go BPA and that would be Adams.

4th Pick Jaguars: RB Leonard Fournette

I really think Jags are also at a spot that doesn't fit who they want to draft. A QB here would be a mistake and OLine isn't here either, so I think Fournette is the best player for their needs.

5th Pick Titans: S Malik Hooker
I know that they need WR, but since they have the 18th pick you gotta chance waiting on a WR when they have an absolutely horrible secondary. Like the Browns they will use multiple picks to address this.

6th Pick Jets: DE/DT Jonathan Allen
The injury concerns stopped him from being number two and with Hooker/Adams off the board and Allen should be a stud to start his career and the Jets need help on the DLine.

7th Pick Chargers: CB Marshon Lattimore
If Adams/Hooker isn't available and a trade down opportunity doesn't show itself, they do need some more help at CB, so I went with the best one in Lattimore. I also thought about Reddick here as well.

8th pick Panthers: WR Corey Davis
I feel Davis is more NFL ready as a receiver and honestly the Panthers need a weapon. It really was a coin toss between him and Williams, but they need a weapon.

Trade Alert: Cardinals trade pick 13 and 77 for pick 9

9th Pick Cardinals: LB Reuben Foster
I know he supposedly fail a drug test, but Cardinals have done really well drafting these types of players and there is a good probability he could be drafted at 9, 10 or 11 nonetheless so the Cardinals move up to get their guy.

10th Pick Bills: CB Marlon Humphrey
They need help in a few positions, but they need to address the secondary and he is the best available and likely isn't staying on the board after the next couple picks

11th Pick Saints: TE OJ Howard
I cannot see the Saints skipping on this kids talent. Fleener was a bust so far and even if he gets himself straight, Howard is just a good player and Brees is getting older, he needs weapons to win now and he is the best one maybe in the draft.

Trade Alert Titans acquire pick 12 and 175 for picks 18, 83 and a second round 2018 pick.

12th Pick Titans: WR Mike Williams
They make the deal with Cleveland to get the second guy on there board in Williams to give Mariota a weapon.

13th Pick Bengals: DE Derek Barnett
They need help with their DE position and Barnett is the best on the board. They traded down feeling he would still be there.

14th Pick Eagles: RB Christian McCaffrey
The eagles offense needs more weapons to put around the young QB Wentz and this guy is just a good weapon in general. I feel he is the guy who is good at everything.

15th Pick Colts: LB Haason Reddick
They really need help with their LBs and Reddick I believe is the best on the board.

16th Pick Ravens: DE/OLB Charles Harris
He just looks like he would be the best player for the Ravens personally.

17th Pick Redskins: LB Zach Cunningham
They need work on their defense and I think Cunningham is the best LB available right now

18th Pick Browns: CB Gareon Conley
But what about Trubisky?!?! Honestly they need help in other positions and Conley is a good player who may fall, but talent wise and need wise this is a good selection for the Browns.

19th Picks Bucs: RB Dalvin Cook
This is another guy who has rumors around him, but I feel they are false and Bucs need an RB, he was going top 10 before the rumors

Trade Alert Giants acquire picks 20 and 126 for picks 23 and 87

20th pick Giants: LB Jarrad Davis
From what I have been able to read this is the guy the Giants want and the Lions could possibly take him at 21 cause of their needs.

21st pick Lions: DE/OLB TJ Watt
It was hard to say who to put here between him and Charlton but with the fact TJ fits their needs the best in personal opinion

Trade Alert Seattle Acquires pick 22 for picks 26, 210 and 2014 fourth round

22nd Pick Seahawks: OT Garrett Boles
Seattle moves up to get their OLine target.

23rd Pick Broncos: OT Ryan Ramczyk
This guy was their target all along they say and it was likely between him and Boles. Robinson I think will fall.

Trade Alert Chiefs acquire pick 24 for picks 27, 132 and 218

24th Pick Chiefs: QB Mitch Trubisky
Yes I have Trubisky falling to 24 to the Chiefs who traded up for him. I know people are thinking I am crazy, but this is actually where Trubisky is graded at as a prospect. I think this would be a good move for the Chiefs

25th Pick Texans: QB Pat Mahomes
This was likely the Texans pick from early this off-season and will end up probably being their pick.

26th Pick Dolphins: OG Forrest Lamp
I feel he is the best player on the board at this time and they have a need at Guard and he is the best one in the Draft. Most people have the defense here, but this is a guy they could really use.

27th Pick Raiders: WR John Ross
In spirit of the Raiders Davis, Ross goes here to the Raiders. That would be one scary WR core!

28th pick Cowboys: DE Taco Charlton
I feel this one is a no brainier, they need a DE and he is the best one on the board. It's a good probability he ends up here in real life.

29th Pick Packers: CB Kevin King
They need a corner and King is considered the best one on the board so they get him!

Trade Alert Browns acquire pick 30 for Picks 33, 145 and a 2018 5th round

30th Pick Browns: S Obi Melifonwu

The Browns get the guy they really want for one of the Safety spots here. Now that being said they had to slightly overpay for it otherwise Steelers may have drafted him.

31st Pick Falcons: DE/OLB Jordan Willis
This guy seems to fit the Falcons need and with the athleticism that fits the way the Falcons have been drafting lately.

Jaguars acquire pick 32 for 35 and 148

32nd Pick Jaguars: QB DeShone Watson
They need a replacement for Bortles and they decide on Watson

That is my mock draft! So if you like it the sweet and if ya don't then oh well! No one has ever predicted the draft right and this is what I think will happen!

I dont see Trubisky dropping that much. I also dont See Conley going in the first anymore, i think he is a late 2nd pick now.

That said, I love your draft. Love Obi, love adding a legit CB in conley and of course I love Myles.

Winner for most accurate National writer Mock Draft goes to Charlie Campbell of Walter Football who nailed a grand total of 8 of the first round picks.

A couple others hit on 6. Reality killed mocks this year. The most successful calls, aside from Garrett #1 were Fournette to Jacksonville at #4, McCaffery to Carolina at #8, and Garret Bolles to Denver at #20.

See everyone tracked here.
