2018-19 Predicitons thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That roster looks like the '08 Cavs roster to me. And I don't think 45 wins gets you in the West this year.

People are down on San Antonio and I don't get it? They won 47 games last year w/o Leonard playing almost ever. Theyve now switched him out for DeRozan and people think they'll be worse?

The 08 Cavs would have killed to have this Lakers roster.

But with regard to San Antonio, they really struggled down the stretch. Went 13-16 the last 2+ months of the year, and they just lost Dejounte Murray for the whole season.

I feel you are way overrating these young cats. As of right now, no one on this roster is better than '08 Delonte West. Like, it's nice to think of what Josh Hart CAN be..but he hasn't played a game.

Shooting is a major problem. And when coupled with having no good low post player...I don't know how they score points. 44-45 wins..and they don't get in with that.

And 2008 LeBron was a better regular season player than current LeBron.

I know we all Delonte, but no. 08 Delonte was not better than this version of Rondo, Ball or Ingram. You could MAYBE make a case for 09 Delonte. That guy reach his full potential.

Also, Josh Hart played 23 minutes per game last year. He started 23 of the 63 games he played. He's not some unknown here.

I really think a lot of people just ignored the Lakers last year, which is understandable. They only won 35 games last year, but, unlike the Spurs, they actually got better as the season went on. They finished 24-20 their last 44 games of the year. The kids held their own. Now they're adding the best player in the NBA. And I know the Rondo move has been panned, but we just saw what the guy did when he was given the keys in NO.

But hey, I'm fine being in the minority here and will assuredly eat crow if I'm wrong.

You are wrong on both accounts. This Lakers team is nithing like the 08 Cavs.
They have great ball handlers, pretty good isolation scorers and passers to take the load off Lebron and above all, they project well defensively to keep them in the game when their offense stalls.

Not to mention that Lebron will be reffed differently. You will see.

San Antonio lost 3 very good defenders and 3 of their most impactful players in terms of advanced stats.

Kyle Anderson- underrated.

Danny Green

Ginobili

Now they even lost their best defender Murray because of an ACL tear. So really, they lost 4 impactful players not counting Kawhi.

Their starting lineup is a bunch of terrible defenders now. Their second unit doesn’t look too great either. Poeltl has looked very underwhelming as a Spur.

And if they really plan on starting White-Derozan-Gay-LMA-Gasol.... that court is going to be cramped.

This was the plan with Murray who is a worse shooter than White, so I expect to see the same lineup maybe minus White?

You two realize the predictions were made prior to the Murray news, yes???????

People can hate all they want--- Rondo and the dude with the lazy eye will boost bron considerably

Oof, now Derrick White is out 2 months. The Spurs might want to think about a strategic tank.

I'm never very good at these predictions given there are so many things that can change a season from injuries to roster moves but here goes my hot take prediction on the 18-19 season standings:
East:

1. Milwaukee
2. Toronto
3. Boston
4. Indiana
5. Philly
6. Miami
7. Cleveland
8. Washington
9. Detroit
10. Brooklyn
11. Chicago
12. Charlotte
13. Orlando
14. NY
15. Atlanta
Bucks win the most games in the regular season but don't come out of the East in the playoffs
West:
1. Utah
2. Houston
3. GSW
4. New Orleans
5. Minnesota
6. Lakers
7. Portland
8. OKC
9. Denver
10. San Antonio
11. Clippers
12. Sacramento
13. Dallas
14. Phoenix
15. Memphis
Utah wins the west

My only prediction, Cavs make the playoffs, lose in Rd1.

I honestly find it amazing after years and years and years of people predicting the downfall of the Spurs and it not happening that it still happens?

Like...they're more consistent than anytbing. More than LeBron. At some point shouldnt they have to just miss the playoffs before anyone believes they will
