2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, we’d better get our Kyrie-equivalent...

Obligatory "wE aLrEaDy hAvE oUr kYrIe eQuIvAlEnt, & wE bAsIcAlLy tRaDeD kYrIe 4 hIm" argument, which really may not be deserving of the mocking-spongebob letters due to how Young Bull has looked lately...

But yes, another HOF-level drafted piece like Zion might come in handy with this coming draft.

To me, it is becoming more and more clear that Morant is the 2nd best player behind Zion.

how big of a drop off is there after 1-4?
1. Zion
2. Barrett
3. Morant
4. reddish
5. Culver

Reddish isn't even 4, you watch him and realize there is much distance between him and Barret as there is between Barrett and Zion.

Reddish has been disappointing. He was hyped just as much as Barett was and had a decent start to the season but has disappointed as the season went on. He can shoot. He's kinda athletic. He sort of plays defense. Not that fast. OK dribble.

He's no where near a top 5 pick.

I'm probably crazy, but if we fall far out of top 5 I'm going all ceiling on the pick. If Bol Bol has a chance of getting healthy I'm leaning that direction.

Ummm Morant over Barret right?

I mean Morant looks like a slightly less athletic Russel Westbrook with actual basketball skills....

I’m with you on all ceiling if we get out of the top 3. I don’t know who that is, but anymore I’m of the opinion in drafts like this I’d rather have 3 firsts in the 20s rather than one pick at 6.

Half the emerging stars were guys under the radar. I’d rather roll the dice on 3 kids from Africa or some European 7’4 kid with grainy video footage from some village in Uzbekistan.

I look back at previous drafts and think you have a better shot at finding a diamond in the rough with some foreign poorly coached kid before an underperforming kid who was 5* out of high school and did the AAU circuit since 12. Lately it feels the Siakam, Anouby, Jokic types are hitting at a similar frequency as Reddish types. He’s been hot garbage on the court. You’re essentially speculating on a body type that should translate but hasn’t yet, in which case I’d rather have 3 lottery scratch offs than 1.

I’d never reach for those guys, but if you don’t have a pick where you can draft someone who is actually already good, draft 3 raw guys with the right body type. I used to cringe when we’d draft some foreign kid or late to the game under the radar college kid, but anymore I’d rather take a shot on a few of those if they are physically gifted.
