I hope the Cavs have a better offer on the table for JRs contract. Maybe Miami has offered up #13 or maybe the Hawks are going after Culver and we might end up getting #8, #10, and #17.
If it was that simple for Atlanta to trade for another pick, then the cavs should be able to as well. I'm hoping that Miami deal goes through

I hope so too! Atlanta made a good deal for themselves & Brooklyn cleared room for another max level free agent.

The Cavs can make a JR deal at any time and likely will do so, as I believe the acquiring team will need to cut him by 6/30. It wouldn’t surprise me if we’re talking to multiple teams about draft picks this year, next, and/or young players. Some teams to keep an eye on are Miami, Charlotte, Boston, Portland, Houston, LA Clippers, & Washington.

Well, the 30th pick wouldn't be exactly ideal. But that's a starting point. I'm hoping we can find a deal that nets us something closer to the 20th pick. But, at worst, at least here's a team at the end of the 1st round that needs to shed salary.
Yeah Cavs are not taking on 2 yrs of Snell with a 3rd yr player option for the 30th
if that was the best offer they got they would just waive Smith.
They will get better than that for taking on less years

With the ability to purchase an early 2nd rounder, the 30th pick in the draft is not worth paying the tax over in return for the JR contract.

We have much better suitors for it than that. If it did come to Milwaukee, we'd be talking multiple 1st's or total removal of all protection on that 2022 pick they owe us, plus #30 this year.

Agreed. If the Bucks want to make that 2022 pick unprotected, along with giving us the #30 pick, I’m listening. Still it’s only top 10 protected and, as long as Giannis is there, chances are they’re a playoff team.

Atlanta made a great deals and I really like what Travis Schlenk has going there. He’s building that team in the model of the Warriors, where he came from.

It’s going to be tough to get a quality 2020 pick for JR as next year’s draft is supposed to be stronger and there are still many unknowns.

Yeah I would just waive Smith if that was all they could get. Snell is worthless

I'd be looking at picks farther away than next year if they are not able to get 13 or 16 this year. That opens up taking on a player from a playoff team that may not be one in 2 or 3 years.
Next year might be stronger in the top 10 but jury is still out on that. Overall looks about the same depth wise with actually less quality role players and more high bust potential options. 2019 draft has proved to be better than originally thought as it relates to potential starter level players and a plethora of rotation level options.

I think this is the lowest the Cavs go and I don't think they take Snell. They take Ilyasova since he doesn't have a fully guaranteed 20/21 year and he could be a real good trade asset especially since he only makes 7 million. He has been a good 3pt shooter in the last two playoffs and has made an impact.

That would be the year following Giannis’ last signed season, though. He’s a free agent in 2021. Things could get weird.

Plus that’s the double draft. If Giannis leaves and they stink and it’s a loaded draft, Holy Moses what an asset.

I like Dylan Windler at 26. He is a 6' 8" guard that puts up 21pts 10rebs 2.5ast 1.4stl

Has a step back 3 he often takes from nba range and better shooting almost 43%. Doesn't need a lot of time to get his shot off. 54% from the field. Over 60% 2pt and 84% from the line

Shame on me for saying this but I see a lot of Curry in those 3s.
