And its likely he'll be represented by Drew Rosenhaus.

This Justin Fields conundrum is just echoing what the rest of the college football world already knows.

Haskins is out, and the competition to be in one of the most prolific offenses in the country is on.
I have a hard time seeing Tate being the starting QB next year.

Anyone have a quick synopsis of this Fields kid? Don't know much about him.

From Georgia. Was a consensus top 2 recruit in the country last year (247 & Rivals had Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence at number one and Fields at two while ESPN had Fields at one). He was originally committed to Penn State but backed off that commitment in June of 2017. Came down to Georgia and FSU for his signature. Also was a top notch HS baseball prospect.

Here are his senior year highlights (only played 8 games due to a hand injury):

As for college, he appeared in every game this season for Georgia, primarily in mop up duty and also as a change of pace guy. Part of the reason it's believed he wants to transfer is because he was called a racial slur by a then-member of Georgia's baseball team during Georgia's game against Tennessee back in late September.

This...I know about what he & Tate have done in College (not much at this point) and that they were both very highly rated recruits but that's about it...

I guess what I'm wondering is...do we know for sure that he's better than Tate Martell? Or did something happen with Martell that is causing us to look at Fields?

It would be unprecedented at OSU to boot a 5 star QB to the curb in favor of a 5 star QB transfer. And that's exactly what would happen if Fields comes here; Martell would be gone in an instant.

I know Fields has much better size for a QB and still has the mobility...but is he that much better of a passer?

I'm just trying to get a better understanding of the situation here.

It would be incredible though if the Ryan Day era started by landing two of the highest rated players we've ever had...

Was Tate Martell a highly rated QB?
Yes. He was ranked as the 39th best player in the nation by Rivals (2nd best dual threat QB), 92nd by 247Sports (2nd best DT-QB), and 127th by ESPN (6th best DT-QB). 247Sports Composite ranking (average of all three services) had him as the 56th best player in the nation and the number two dual threat quarterback behind Tua Tagovailoa. Martell was also the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Schiano staying on as D coordinator would be nothing short of a failure of an offseason.

Go get Gregggggggg.
