2019 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see Tate is going to visit WVU, how good do you think this kid could be in the Big12.

He can be really good anywhere, quite frankly.

WVU and that young collection of weapons would be a great choice.

Interesting developments in QB musical chairs....not sure if it belongs in this thread anymore....but current landscape looks like:

Austin Kendall to Duke. Austin is from Charlotte, huge Duke fan growing up, wants to step in for Daniel Jones who delcared early. Gives him a chance to play close to home under David Cutcliffe.

That leaves the OU job open. Jalen Hurts has now visited both Miami and OU. It sound slike the pendulum has swung from Miami to OU. It's looking like Hurts wants to be the guy that follows Mayfield and Muuray. I personally don't see it (if I'm OU I'd be pushing for Tate over Hurts but logical sense is that they don't want to piss off Spencer Rattler who is a true frosh and wouldn't like the possibility of 3 Tate Martell years in front of him).

That opens up Tate's first choice, which seems to be Miami. Yes, he looked at WVU yesterday, but it sounds like he'd like to link up with his boys from Bishop Gorman and try and resurrect "the U". He wasn't going there if Hurts was following Enos. Personally, I think Miami would be much better off hitching their wagon to Tate than Hurts. You'd have 3 years of eligibility vs. 1 in Hurts, and I think Tate is just the better player, anyways.

In summary......I think Tate to Miami, Hurts to OU, Austin Kendall to Duke.

I think Hurts ends up at Maryland fwiw

Kendall is also visiting Auburn.

I don't remember Michael Thomas being this good in college. Always remember Devin Smith more from those teams but the scouts obviously like him

He had some pretty spectacular and game changing catches in 2014. Guy had some of the best body control I've ever seen out of a wide receiver at OSU.

A lot people said we didn't use Zeke enough during that same time. And we had Jalin Marshall who was electric. And Devin Smith in 14 and Brax as a WR in 15.

We had too many weapons and didn't do a great job in 15 of handling them all.

Michael Thomas was great here. Just criminally underutilized.

He was on a running team that wasn't that adept at throwing the football vertically.

Criminally undervalued.

The reliance on college stats to measure value with relation to draft position is how Corey Coleman goes nearly a full round ahead of people like Thomas.

Nailed it. Undervalued is the much better verb to use in this instance.

Looking like Kendall Sheffield is going pro.

Beck and Warriner were pure trash. I dont know what the deal was with Urban that year. And a decent amount of the team seemed checked out and going through the motions getting ready for the NFL Draft.

He should. He'll test well at the combine. If he comes back, cool, but I'm not too worried about him leaving with the depth that exists in the secondary. He'd likely be the 4th corner behind Okudah, Wade, and Arnette. On a separate note... really glad Arnette is coming back. I feel like he got a bad rap last year but how much of that was being poisoned by the Grinch/Schiano pairing? Arnette is a physical corner with a ton of experience that will provide leadership to the young corners. I think he'll be much improved next year.

Okudah, Wade and Arnette with White and Fuller in the secondary.

Coached by Jeff Hafley...

....y'all

You're about to see a return to elite defensive play at this university. Al Washington will undoubtedly have the LB group playing at a higher level and nearly everyone returns there.

Tuf Borland gets a full off-season to get better, faster, stronger. Something he didn't have last year.

Werner, Browning, Harrison all return.

Obviously, the DL will continue to play at a high level, Chase Young can launch himself into the conversation as the best EDGE player in the country.
