2019 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dick LeBeau was 138

If you can coach, you can coach. Dude has been around forever and recruits his butt off, and will be surrounded by a young and energetic staff and a 39-year-old co-DC in Hafley who has a history as a recruiting coordinator.

Putting together a heck of a staff, IMO. Hopefully they can add Washington and Corey Raymond from LSU to make it complete.

How exactly do you see the staff shaping up after these hires? Do you have any insight on them? Don't really know anything about them besides what's been posted here.

Replacing Schiano and Davis is a big win. If Halfley sticks around as a good DC for 4-5 years after Mattison retires, this is about as good as we could have hoped for.

We have some good posters in here for OSU news, but if you're looking for much more comprehensive stuff... check out elevenwarriors.com

Washington and Raymond are ace recruiters who have developed NFL talent.

Full stop, they’re excellent hires especially when put through the lens of combining them with Larry Johnson.

From that Rivals article:

A formal announcement is expected in the near future by Ohio State. Sources continue to feel that a fourth new defensive assistant will be added and that the goal of Day and the Ohio State brain trust is to have that finalized by the end of the week.

Will be very interesting to see who that fourth new face ends up being. Sounds like they are still going to chase LSU DB coach Corey Raymond. Would be a very tough pull and there was some cold water thrown on that news yesterday by Alex Gleitman of 247Sports.

Other than losing Jordan (and maybe Hill/Sheffield/Arnette) this offseason has gone great from an assistant coach/player perspective. How often do you lose 2 assistants who were NFL coaches, and the most prolific QB in school history, and potentially get better at all 3 spots?

The QB room and skill position players seem promising going forward, as does the coaching staff. My one question mark is the offensive line- how is that shaping up for the future?

Definitely a question mark heading into next season. Lots of new faces there.
