2019 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does anyone know which douchebag first decided that all four letters in EDGE needed to be capitalized? We don't say DEFENSIVE TACKLE, or SAFETY, or TIGHT END. So how the fuck did this EDGE crap get started?
EDGY

With as deep as the d-line is this draft, I wouldn't mind coming away with two d-lineman and a linebacker.

Every other position when shortened is capitalized. I'm assuming like Quarterback (QB) they took Edge Rusher and shortened it to EDGE. That's my guess, I have no idea otherwise.

Browns met w/ Derick Roberson, DE from Sam Houston

one of those guys who has a 2nd gear when he gets that inch.

got a question for ya AZ. Have you looked at Garrett's film from this year? I haven't. From just watching the games it seemed 90% of his game is just speed. Am I a little overboard? I love watching Willey's Dat Dude on speak for yourself. anywhere I can watch Garrett's plays and make a education decision?

Before looking for any tape, understand my own perspective that Garrett has now developed into a well-rounded player in year two.

He not only has the speed, but his hands and arsenal of moves are exceptional. The bull rush works, the club move world, dips and rips with incredible bend and flexibility. He's even got a straight arm move now that flashed a bit in this last year.

Note the hand usage at 1:15, then the straight arm push at 1:30

Haven't had time to read the entire thread, but I've been reading mocks and here's some guys I'd be intrigued with at #17 if they're there:

- Clelin Ferrell, DE/LB, Clemson
- Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
- DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
- Dre'Mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
- Jachai Polite, DE/LB, Florida

Anybody have any further insight on any of these guys? Do they all suck? Enlighten me and tell me that I'd be a horrible scout.

There isn't a bad player on this list, IMO.

Jones is an intriguing player, I think he's going to be exceptional. But he's a natural 3T (so is Wilkins for that matter), which I guess would be a fit with Larry O if they're going to continue playing him at 1T.

In an ideal world, they'd add the 1T and move Larry, but Larry and Jones or Wilkins would certainly be a nice duo.

I still think they make a play for Rodney Gunter, Grady Jarrett, Sheldon Richardson to add a player.

Wilkins is an extremely high character guy, the undisputed leader of that Clemson team. He's not the type of athlete guys like Q. Williams or Oliver are, but he has immaculate technique and effort and he's very, very smart. PFF had him rated 3rd in pass rush rating and while some of that definitely stems from not going against nfl caliber athletes, he rarely resorts to brute strength or burst anyway, so it shouldn't be too big of a worry either way. Look, I personally love Wilkins at 17, he's a great kid and a great player. He may not have the upside of a Dre'Mont Jones or Ferrell, simply because he just isn't the same kind of athlete they are, but his floor should be extremely solid. Very solid pick from what I've gathered.

Baker, from what I understand has the potential to be true lockdown corner, but there are some questions about his size and he supposedly has some off field issues that are scaring some people off. If we're looking to go for a CB in the first round I'd probably prefer Byron Murphy who is a bit bigger and every bit the talent Baker is, and doesn't come with the same baggage.

I was surprised at the power he has. Man he pushed some big guys out of the way.

Myles is just a terminator, I have never seen a human look the way he does and be able to move like that.

I've been trying to figure out how different players would function on our DLine and what needs they meet for us, and I think I might lean towards finding another DT, who can help stop the run over another pass rusher at the edge. While another edge rusher would make Myles' job a lot easier, I just feel like having somebody who can help create interior pass rushing and run defense would be more beneficial to us, especially when you look at most of the elite teams in the league also having a strong rushing attack.
