2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was counting his 10IP from last year as well.

Ideally he’d have equal reps at the next level before coming up.

That would probably put a 5ish week timeline so mid June - early July would be the timeline for getting those amount of innings, and he would still have about 20-30 appearances for the Indians if that happens.

@Derek as well.

Now can I ask about Josh Smith at AAA and Plesac and Speer at AA? I don't really know much about these guys, and I would like to know more if I could please.

Karinchak with another 3K in an inning yesterday.

His FIP is actually -0.91

MINUS 0.91

44 batters

30 K
8 'In-Play' Outs
3 BB
3 H (all singles)

I don't think any of those guys are worth talking about. If they work their way to a spot start some day, we'll just pray like we do every time Merritt/Plutko/Anderson take the mound.

FYI, Will Benson has barely made contact with a pitch since his 4 HR game.

His numbers have plummeted.

23 K in 44 AB since he hit his 4th HR on April 18

Well Smith and Speer will be bullpen arms, I was just curious about Plesac since he is has a 1.52 ERA in his ten career AA starts, and even better in the 6 he had this season. I figured he wasn't a top guy, but those numbers are hard to ignore. Do you see him getting a AAA promotion any time this season?

My guess he is trying for the fences rather than putting together good ABs?

The organization has not exactly struck gold on the first round outfielders drafted over the past several seasons. Naquin has either been injured or underwhelming since the second half of 2016, Frazier was dealt for Miller, Zimmer can't stay healthy or avoid striking out at an alarmingly high level, and Benson isn't where he was expected to be in his development.

Benson was a high schooler, that was a very good athletic but had issues as a baseball player and he isnt even 21 yet, we will keep him the 5 seasons we have control over him in a sense, so he still has time, but even then just getting again guys to the pros actually is a pretty good thing even as a first round pick.

Blew his proverbial load.

Eli Morgan is starting at AA today! Though his own error may hurt him some since it allowed someone to score.

@BimboColesHair @AZ_

How do you feel the draft could play out for the Indians this season? A little early but I am curious about what you guys think about how the Indians will attack the draft?

I am curious if we will almost go more college this season since we have a ton of talent in our 20 and younger group, that maybe mixing in more developed/older guys may not a bad thing or do we just stick with our go for the best athlete style we have seen lately (at least it feels like we have been).

Plesac promoted and starting for Columbus today

I was curious about why Morgan got the start at AA when it was Plesac's turn in the rotation!

This kid doesn't have much of a scouting report and the guys on here really said he didn't look more than AAAA type of spot starter. The report from this guy said, 4/5th type of starter at the MLB level is his ceiling.

He was a 12th round pick and if that scout is on the money, thats not bad value at all. Also he is the nephew of former MLB pitcher Dan Plesac, who was a solid lefty reliever for a lot of years.

Plesac went 6 innings, 4 hits, no runs, 7 SOs and 1 walk.

Looks like pretty good numbers to me for a guy who wasn't supposed to be anything.

Trevor Crowe was fine.
