2019 Mock Drafts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’ll take Hockenson 10 times out of 10 over any offensive skill player at 17.

I think he’s an elite elite talent.

A more athletic version of Jason Witten.

I think a 2nd tight end makes a ton of sense, I also think Njuko can play some WR with his size and speed like Graham.

I have been pimping Hockenson for awhile now. Not sure how it goes down, so many good options at 17 will be there, I think this draft is 2 rounds deep or so with top talent then it fades from there.

I'd take a legit right tackle before all the offensive skill players at 17. If Dillard is off the board, Risner measured out as a legit right tackle at the Senior Bowl. I feel like all these mock drafts saw the drop in sacks and thought, "Browns are set then."

Far from it. The tackles aren't opening holes for Chubb and Kitchens had to toss away half the playbook to mask how awful the tackles were playing. I hope the Browns snag Daryl Williams in free agency to bump Chris Hubbard back to swing tackle.

Where do you have Cajuste right now f you’ve had the chance to formulate an opinion? I like that we are looking at retaining Robinson then figuring the rest out.

It's still early, but my board at 17 is shaping up like this...

1. T.J. Hockenson
2. Jeffery Simmons
3. Devin White
4. Dre’Mont Jones
5. Andre Dillard

There's no WR I'd pick at 17 right now. The Browns aren't in the market for a 1st round QB, RB, interior OL or safety.

For me at 17 it's BPA of TE, DT, LB, DE, CB and OLB.

Now it's very likely the Browns will fill 1-3 of these holes with trades or free agency well before the draft, so we'll have a better understanding of what the draft board might look like after that.

With regards to our front-7, I was thinking... we shouldn't rule out our own team's structure as being a pretty big factor in how we approach acquiring more talent.

If you look at our LB core, we have some 'vets' with experience (Schobert and Kirksey) with Collins having a good chance of being cut. With that being the case, we should probably angle towards the draft to infuse some youth in that position group alongside Avery. Younger talent could learn from Scho and Kirk and become better.

Whereas on the D-Line, we have young talent in Garrett, Ogunjobi, and Ogbah. Perhaps we should pursue one of the guys in free agency to beef it up and bring in some experience to help out the younger guys. We have a YOUNG D-line and I think it might be more beneficial to their growth if they have an experienced vet there guiding them.

I think that's the approach we should have. Obviously, we should not pass on what we think could be elite talent in free agency or the draft if the opportunity presented itself. We should always be flexible and adjust to the circumstances.

Agree that we could really use help at linebacker. We fall apart defensively when Schobert isn't in the game, and could really use a fast LB.

But does experience really even matter all that much on the DL? It may be the most simple/least complicated position group on the team to learn.

Jesus. Jeffery Simmons’ stat line is borderline incomprehensible if projected out. 5 games, 23 solo, 35 assisted.

So Q Williams: 15 games: 45 solo, 26 assisted.
Projection of 15 for JS: 69 solo, 105 assisted.

Commence background check. Hire private detectives. Speak to 3rd grade girlfriends and cousin-in-laws.

If this guy has a work ethic and checks out, we might want to slander his name and make sure that he falls to us. Those stats are unreal.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that most scouts who checked up with Simmons' background, asked around his hometown, his teammates through the years, etc. came away with nothing but praise. That, of course can mean one of two things:

1) It was a one time thing, and a horrific lapse in judgement by a kid, and it's not indicative of his personality as a hole
2) Football teammates, coaches and lockerrooms are awful judges of character.

Let’s set up a gofundme page for me to wear a Roethlisburger Jersey over full pads and a sumo suit and have Simmons get a 10 yard start and completely destroy me.

Alternative: We set up a gofundme to have Jeffery Simmons completely destroy Ben Roethlisburger.

He will have plenty of money. Let’s give something back to the people:

-A quarterback sack of money to the homeless shelters.
-Bud Light locked refrigerators inside of every assisted living facility.
-Halloween candy to orphans.
-Tren and ear plugs to @David.

So, 1) I'd be ecstatic if Simmons drops to 17. I firmly believe he won't, but we'll see. 2) I don't want to make excuses for the guy because the video is pretty graphic; however, he started to try to break up a fight between his sister and another girl when the other girl made lewd comments about his deceased family members.

I'll say this.. If someone came to me in 2019 and made comments about my deceased father (1996), I'm not sure whether or not I'd end-up killing that person.
