2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Check that -- apparently that dumbass Rashad Phillips said Ja Morant is his #1 pick yesterday. It's just getting so predictable lol.

EDIT: double post

Weird...post was showing up twice for me, so I edited one of them. Now my actual post is gone somehow. Anyway, was just saying that at least in reality the Hawks got a future first in the deal. If they'd listened to Rashad Phillips and drafted Young at #3 straight up they'd be even worse off.

Another fantastic game for Goga as he recorded 13 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks, and 0 turnovers in a win over Real Madrid that's being described as the upset of the season. He makes the highlight reel at 0:40, where he drains a 3, and at 1:20 when he scores on a beautiful move to the basket in the pick & roll.

It's a weird time to be a breakout star in international basketball, as it's impossible to live up to the lofty standard set by Doncic last year. But Goga's making a very strong case to be the second-best international prospect in the last ten years. Anyone who doesn't have him in the lottery at this point simply isn't doing their research.

EDIT: Video

I haven't been following this, but what's up with Kevin Porter Jr? Suspended indefinitely for what exactly? Dude is hurting his stock like crazy from the high near the beginning of the year.

Nobody's really said the reasoning beyond conduct detrimental to the team. ESPN's recent big board explanation mentioned that during the preseason he missed practice(s) and had a self-inflicted hand injury. I also wonder if there was something of issue with him coming back from his quad injury - like he wanted to come back earlier than the team wanted him too. It's weird he came back for just one game, and then ended up getting suspended. That's total speculation though.

How many preseason lottery guys have absolutely tanked for one reason or another? Both of the Porters, Bol, Reddish, Grimes, Hoard, Little, Doumbouya, Garland, Reid...not sure I've ever seen such a shake-up.

Yeah, I was doing a bit of a deep dive when I found out he'd gotten suspended and still came up with nothing. Maybe the issue is he wants to sit out for his draft stock and the coaching staff thought he was healthy enough to play? He came back, scored 5 pts in 7 shots in 25 mins, then immediately got suspended after.

I don't think that was it... I know I remember Sam Vecenie saying when he interviewed Porter during his injury absence that Porter said he was dying to play again - and that the rumors that he was holding out for the draft were untrue.

Plus if he even wanted to do that, there's nothing USC could do about it.

It just sounds like there's maturity issues there. The fact that he missed preseason practices is a red flag.

I'd expect that Porter isn't thrilled with coming off the bench. Especially considering he's a top recruit and NBA prospect playing behind a guy like Derryck Thornton. But it sounds like there's underlying maturity issues there too.

Mentioned Teske a little while ago...he was a real difference maker again today. While Brazdeikis, Poole, and Matthews have sort of taken turns shouldering the offensive load for Michigan, Teske's the one and only reason they're a top-10 defensive team. He's the complete package on that end.

Certainly, on that list, Bol, Reddish and Little are the big dissaponments. Pre-season, they accounted for most people’s top 5, with Barrett and Zion.

Morant has at least emerged to make it more of a 1 player draft with 2 consolation prizes.

But it has been a very strange year for picks 4-14 in the lottery. You could talk me in to just about anyone in that range, within reason.
