2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
like i've said for years. the west is overrated. no KD and no bench, still waltzing through the west.

KD has made a mockery of the last 3 NBA seasons. they don't need him. it's blatantly obvious now he only went to GSW because he knew even if he got past them, lebron was waiting.

without lebron in the playoffs the ridiculousness of this team + KD is hilarious.
why did they need him? for what?
when you beat lebron he creates a worthy adversary no matter how stacked you are.

how many times is portland going to go to war with this roster and act like they have a chance? curry and klay make dame and CJ look like isaiah thomas

I hope Durant stays out the rest of the playoffs. The way he ruined the league just so they could have this fraud dynasty should earn him scorn wherever he goes.

I didn't watch the whole game but I did watch the last 3 minutes. I feel like a big problem with Portland and alot of teams get into with Golden State is trying to milk the clock instead of running their offense at normal speed. Dame and CJ are dangerous because the pace and speed they run the offense.

IMO, and I watched the entire game, Terry Stotts was entirely too focused on the offensive end and, in turn, made things way too easy for GS offensively.

He went down the stretch with:

Dame
CJ
Seth Curry
Evan Turner/Hood
Meyers Leonard

He did this for spacing on the offensive end, but they were just getting destroyed by GS defensively. Draymond, Iggy, and Looney used their size to own th eboards and force their way to the hoop, and everything started to open up on the court.

Up 17 points, I couldn't believe Stotts focused so much on offense and kept his two best perimeter defenders (Aminu and Harkless) planted on the bench. I get that Seth was hot and his shooting was a huge bonus last night, but when they get owned on the other side of the court it's really a net neutral contribution.

I like Stotts a lot, but I thought he really pissed the game away down the stretch. You aren't going to get good defensive results when CJ McCollum or Seth Curry is defending the 3 spot. It was ugly.......and turned into a layup line at rim.

Mods, is there a way for me to give this post ten "winners"?

the west is trash and lillard is the most overrated player in the NBA

Yeah, I'm kinda enjoying GS's success without him. I don't really give a fuck anymore since we're not in it. And this clearly bothers Durant. He's already getting pretty sensitive over it.

Good. Let the fraud be exposed for what he really is.

Portland has had huge leads the past two games...just cant stop the avalanche once it starts

Yeah, Portland is not taking a game.

The fact that we took a series is one of the greatest accomplishments in NBA history.

GSW are a really good, experienced, team. As much as I dislike them, gotta tip my hat. They can really turn up the playoff defense and they are very unselfish on offense (without KD).

They have kept the coaching and core and more of a historic 73 win team together that added Durant. This is what happens with/without Durant PERIOD .

I'm no expert, nor did I watch the game.. but from knowing Golden State and a little bit about the Blazers, it just appears that Stotts really was just left to roll the dice and pick his poison. Not much you can do against this Golden State team.

He's played the Warriors quite a few times, I'm pretty sure he knows as well as any other coach in the NBA at this point, that you are not going to just simply roll out your best defensive players and draw up the best defensive schemes against them and expect to stop them..

so what is he left to do? strategize a game plan to "stop" GS? Not going to happen.. so you play your best chance to beat them, try to keep up with them and hope they miss some shots and you hit some to possibly win the game.

I really want to see GS against Milwaukee without KD. I think that would actually be a competitive series and I would have some grudging respect for GS if they won that.

Steph is really getting the "star treatment" he just falls down and get's the call, seemingly every time...

No Javale MacGee this time around. I dont see them beating the bucks without Cousins or Durant, Steph with dislocated fingers taped together, a gimpy Iguodala, Damien Jones coming back from mid season surgery.

If they win, it will be an epic story of perseverance in the face of adversity. Plus they would trail only the celtics and lakers in titles (passing the Bulls)
