2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am not worried about Brady and Bill, they are about to lose to father time.

You would think that we, as Browns fans who have been predicting the demise of the Steelers for about 10 years now, would understand that good teams don't all of a sudden fall apart.

Sure, you could say look at the Steelers now, but that's more a result of terrible drafting than moving on from stars. The Pats, however, just draft and reload. And I see their stockpile of picks right now and think they are about to reload again, and Brady hasn't shown any real signs of being in his late Manning years yet.

I don't know... outside of one drive Brady looked awful in the Bowl. Maybe not Manning's last year awful but he's definitely not the guy he was. He's just occasionally able to turn it on for a crucial drive, which keeps him dangerous when you couple that with the greatest coach of all time.

That Super Bowl was a case of why the Rams spent all that money on defenders last off season.

They sucked most of the year, but when the brightest lights came on, Suh, Talib and Peters played their asses off and made that defense extremely tough to beat.

I don't know, that's an 8-8 team once Brian Hoyer finally has to play, which could be sooner than we think. Brady does have a long way to go to reach 2015 Manning, but the hits have gotten to him more as he has slowed, and a serious injury is going to happen sooner or later.

Especially if and when Gronk is injured or retired, they don't have the foundation of a 16-0 team that was able to then go 11-5 with Matt Cassell. Even if I'm allowing that Belicheat and that foundation is going to produce more wins than a younger Hoyer who had some athleticism in 2014, Hoodie's drafting has been a bit suspect recently, as well...granted, being docked picks has hurt a lot, too.

I don't see Bill sticking around much longer than Brady. Maybe I'm wrong, but he's not exactly young anymore either.

You mean because their QB folds like a lawn chair in the face of adversity?

Yeah, it’s not like St. Louis’ defense got steamrolled or something. In a league wherein we never shut the fuck up about offensive advantage, if you can’t score 14 points I’m not blaming your defense no matter what. In today’s NFL — you hold a team to 16, you have a reallllly good chance of winning.

I think bill would love to prove that he can win without Brady. He might only stick around 3-4 years after Brady but I think he wants to prove he can do it. He really seemed to enjoy those 4 games when Brady was suspended.

Brady for sure has been declining. It's slow but still noticeable. The Patriots offense has been brilliantly adjusting to his weaknesses.

And Ben Roethlisberger doesn't scare me at all watching him play vs. the Browns last year. With an average O-Line I'd say he's pretty mediocre.

Time is catching up to both of them and I honestly believe next year we'll see even more decline, perhaps to the point where the media will question if the teams should think about moving on.

Hearing we inquired about Darron Lee per Benjamin Allbright's podcast - Jets are asking for a third round pick....I like it.

For their holes, it makes a lot of sense. Lee is much better in a 4-3, and he fits along side Joe and Kirksey.

Worry 3rd round pick value might be a bit too high though - he has underperformed for NYJ but he fills a need for us - he's a good cover LB. I am a bit biased due to OSU homerism, full transparency, but he was a stud in college and still so young. Just don't expect him to be a sack machine.

A third round pick?

That’s absurd. He’s been terrible for them, and if he wasn’t as recognizable a name he wouldn’t be worth more than a late round pick swap.

He was having a solid year last year...of course, he was on PEDs. He was awful his first two years.

3rd round pick would be asinine.
