2019 Series #7 | Indians vs. Braves | April 20th and 21st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This night really shows why we gotta get someone in the setup role. We really needed someone to setup into the role and we havent found anyone.

Comes with the territory of playing a double header. If these were games on back to back nights, I think the outcome would have been different.

Meh. Cimber had faced 20 batters this year before tonight and had walked none of them. Sometimes weird stuff just happens.

Plus, it's possible that Wittgren is going to be that guy moving forward.

Tough loss.

Win the series tomorrow.

Haven’t seen a meltdown like that in a while. Get them tomorrow.

Why lift Bauer at that time? He walked a guy. He was in control of the game, at that point.

Probably had something to do with him having 120 pitches and not wanting to burn out his best starter in April.

That was almost as embarrassing as Tomlin sitting them down 1-2-3 earlier in the day.

Hand is good. Wittgren has been good. Cimber had been good before tonight. Olson hasn't been that great this year, but he does have a multi-year track record of getting LHB out consistently. So that's four guys.

The biggest issue in the pen is that Perez might be washed and none of the Otero/Ramirez/Anderson triumvirate is trustworthy.

I assume Clippard is going to get called up here really soon to replace one of Anderson/Ramirez with the other being replaced when they recall Rodriguez to be the 5th starter again.

Then we're on Perez watch. The Indians guaranteed him 2.5M and I'm sure they're not dying to eat that money, but I don't know how much longer they can let him flail around either.

Shit happens but there’s is no reason to blow that one.

We really need some new bullpen arms. Hopefully Clippard can be one soon.

Clippard and Salazar are the most likely options already here. But I'd love to see a youngster get the chance like Karinchak or Hentges.

6 relief pitchers. Every one allowed a base-runner. Nobody got more than two batters out. Allowed a combined 7 runs. Nobody did his job. You called on 6 pitchers, and NONE of them could close the deal. Awful.

You blow the lead with Cody Anderson in the highest leverage spot and then seal the loss with Naquin against a lefty and Roberto Perez as your final outs. It would hard to script a more awful 9th.
