2019 Spring Training

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't comment often but are we really disparaging TB for telling women up front: I care about baseball right now, want nothing to do with a relationship and oh yeah if it's there I'm going to take it? I mean that might be the most chivalrous thing I've heard out of the generation (s) after my time is to say it up front before anything actually happens.

I have no issue if Bauer were being honest with a woman. Think that would be admirable if that’s what he’s actually doing, which is unclear.

But arrogantly bragging about it in an interview with SI.com would suggest a different type of personality.

Bauer might be a rare breed who can actually have trouble closing the deal with women as a multi-millionaire.

Seems like he could make the most desperate, money-hungry, internet skank instantly grow morals.

What a vigilante :chuckle:

Bauer is more well known around Kent State, sticking to the younger insecure college girls he can still pull.

Trevor Bauer is an obnoxious, immature man-child who happens to be blessed with a golden arm, an extreme knowledge of biomechanics and how those two things intersect in relation to throwing a baseball.

Great pitcher, but he's about as likable as a piss filled diaper.

Having had a kid with an illness and dehydration, a piss filled diaper was a blessing, a good sign, and extremely likeable.

Plutko looks like he will get the starting nod for the first spring training game and it looks like Kluber, Carrasco and Clev will be limited in innings this spring/limited at the start of spring.

It seems like from everything I saw, I was wrong about Plutko not having options, since I thought he was out of options but rostersource was saying he still has one. So it really only seems like Moroff, Plawecki, Neil Ramirez and Olson are out of options. Plawecki is likely on the roster, and if the last three don't make the roster then no big deal since they have to be beat out by minor league free agents. Also I expect they could make it through waivers, so they can stay within the organization.

Otero is starting the spring with a sore calf, but is expected to be fine, so hopefully nothing is lingering in there. Competition it seems like will be fierce for the bullpen spots.

Spring Camp battles breakdown:

Starting Catching: Perez and Plawecki are vying to set who is the starting catcher!

Haase and Federowicz are likely the AAA catchers (3 and 4 on the depth chart)

Early season starting SS competition: Chang, Moroff, Stamets.

Utility INF battle: Moroff, Stamets, Mike Freeman, Flaherty

OF battle: LF, RF and 4th/5th OF spots up for grabs: Luplow, Naquin, Allen, Bauers, Barnes, Joyce, Thompson.

Bullpen:

Current last 5 spots projected: Cimber, Olson, Ramirez, Edwards, Otero

Returning from Injury competition: Anderson, Goody

40 man competition: Wittgren, Hu, Taylor, Plutko, Rodriquez,

NRI competition: Clippard, Wilson, Hoyt, Grimm, Cole, Kaminsky

Sleepers: Sandlin and Karinchak

What are the chances of Bobby Bradley impressing so much in spring training he makes the team from the start?

LF - Santana/Bauers
DH - Santana/Bauers/Bradley
1B - Santana/Bauers/Bradley

I'm really interested in the OF battles. So many guys fighting for 4-5 spots.
This lineup could be very interesting.

LF - Santana
2B - Kip, prime candidate to have a very nice bounce back year.
3B - Jose
SS - Lindor/Chang, Chang obviously won't bat here.
RF - Joyce - Can he bounce back from the injuries last year.
1B - Bauers - I'm probably higher on him than most.
DH - Bradley - He will eventually be a big HR hitter.
CF - Martin
C - Plawecki/Perez

That seems odd that it would be at 0.00 considering hes projected to reach the big leagues in 2019.

Perhaps he could be, but they'd lose a year of service time having him break camp with the club.

Further, he wasn't very good last year with regards to his progression. He still ran into some power, which is fine.

Strikeouts were up, walks down, offensive value down. He needs to be in the minors getting every day at bats and getting better.

He's still 22, I'd give him the entire year down there if I thought his development warranted such a move. Especially defensively.

Yeah, I can't see Bradley up here unless both Santana and Bauers get hurt. His kind of profile needs him getting everyday ABs which he wouldn't get up here.

If Santana and Bauers play in the OF which has been mentioned he could have regular AB's.

One might, though I doubt it.

Both aren't playing the OF.

More than anything, what has Bradley done to warrant such a promotion?

Bieber will be called up once the Indians get past all of their early season days off.

Feels like if there's any money to be found under the couch cushions, that a better utility IF/fill in SS while Lindor is down certainly wouldn't hurt. Nor would another RH hitting OF.
