So I'm looking at the leaders for scoring in the EuroBasket...a lot of big names, many known in the U.S. from the NBA...the youngest person to appear in the top 40 scorers? Cedi...by nearly 2 years...next closest to him in age is Schroder from the Hawks.

So far, through 3 games, vs Italy, Spain, and Germany (all loaded with multiple NBA players): 12.7 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1 APG, 1 SPG, 50% from the floor, 40% from 3, 60% from the line...and he has yet to turn the ball over once in 89 minutes of play. This is coming from one of the youngest guys in this tournament. Excited to follow this guy, hope we hold onto him.

And here were his highlights vs Italy with some excited foreign commentary

Edit: Might as well add this as well

Agree. I mean, the only real weakness I see is he needs to refine his shot a little. It's not like he can't shoot, but mechanics wise he might need to shorten it up a bit.

This guy's strength is defense. He's pretty athletic, mobile, the guy hustles his ass off.

I'd be very disappointed if we don't keep him. The time he comes over, we're going to need someone else like him to give this team some fresh legs.

Shame on us if we don't keep him. I really think he can play in this league.

This comparison is way over used for international players. But I see a hint of Manu here!

That cross over, and finish with the left would have impressed Kyrie even. That's an NBA play right there.

Very much agree on this. This kid might be the best young player in Europe by the time he comes over, and could easily slide into JR's spot in the rotation and possibly take LBJ's starting spot whenever he hangs it up down the road.

He probably won't cost much. If we trade him, we better get back a really good player.

But we're going to need young legs going forward. That was something Griffin said. This kid fits the bill. I don't see why he can't play.

Just read the scouting report on him that I posted. At worst, he sounds like a bigger version of Delly with more skill obviously. He clearly has talent to play, along with all the intangibles, hustle, and willingness to get better.

He plays tough. I'd be stunned if he's not at least a productive player in the NBA. How good he'll be well that's hard to determine.

If he proves to be a steady shooter, he should be able to start in this league.

Leaning towards keeping this guy and trying to bringing him over next year as JR insurance.

Too bad he's not on the roster now, it's not like Jefferson is stiff competition for the backup SF minutes

2 years, has a contract for next year too that we wont be able to afford to buy out.

Note that him and his NT play in the death group of the competition with Spain, Serbia, Italy, Germany and cannon meat Iceland. putting his kind of numbers in a group like that is impressive and shows that he got a lot of upside...

I saw our old friend Semih Erden I'm those pictures- how is he doing in this tournament?

Maybe we can hold a bake sale or something to help out Gilbert with the costs?

13.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1 BPG, 68.8% from the floor...nothing but dunks off of pick and rolls or putbacks for him in the games I've watched.

They're going to make it out of that group too, barring a serious choke job against Iceland.

Erden stats are: 13.5 PPG with 68.8%, 5.5 RPG and 1.3 AST

Yeah... I belive Germany will be eliminated... Dirk might be the greatest Euro Bball player ever but he is too old, And schroder is too young and reckless with the ball...
And they are in a ridiculous group...

That's unfortunate: I'll be lazy and ask how much is the buyout? Looks like the guy can play so might be time to figure out if we have any options with regards to this.

I think he needs to shine in the Euroleague first... He plays for a team that was once considered a big Club in Europe but lost a lot of glory in the past decade.
The Euroleague is an excellent player development league for the NBA - Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola, Jose Calderon, Anthony Parker, Pablo Prigioni, Nikola Mirotic are only some of the Euroleague products...

I dont know, but buyout money counts as signing money so we would have to fit it into the mle being over the cap.

My point is the current contract brought down his value a bit and is why we were able to take him when we did. Not a huge deal. Just bring the pipe back next year and then bring in Osman
