I like this pick. He is a solid 4th/5th big man who can play C in small lineups. He seems to have a good work ethic and motor which should hopefully earn him some minutes throughout the year.

Hopefully he gets groomed to take over for Andy in a few years. Andy's third year I believe is non guaranteed so we can unload him and plug Christmas in. In the short term when Andy inevitably goes down he can fill in.

Yeah this i what I am thinking. He was mocked to go 29-33 so right in that range that Andy went in. He already appears to have a better post game that T.T but seem a but slow with it.

A poor man's Gorgui Dieng.

A little worse across the board in just about every way (except wingspan), including that he's unlikely to ever be a starter (unless his team is tanking).

But he can be a third big who gets regular season pt in the short-term and maybe blossom into a legitimate second-string Center in the medium term.

That's about what you can hope for at #36.

PS: Is there room for both Christmas and Kaun? I'm thinking Sasha, with his higher salary demands, gets traded.

The team needed a 5th big, maybe 4th if Andy gets injured or isn't close to the same player. I think he is a plausible 5th big for this season.

Good point about Kaun. I had been wondering what type of salary he might command. I would certainly trade him if any team values him.

I think a potential San Antonio trade is being lined up. Splitter and Mills for Haywood and Kaun, with San Antonio signing LMA using the freed up capspace, and Kaun sort of filling Splitter's role, since the two are somewhat similar players.

I just think that Splitter would have to be sent off to a third team for someone who can play backup SF.
