That's a great point, but obviously I wasn't thinking about draft picks when I wrote that. My point is that I would rather win with Kyrie and whoever we build around him and knock LBJ and whatever team he plays for out of the playoffs, instead of trying to get him to come back.

The problem is that you can't know ahead of time whether we can win with just Kyrie and whomever else is around him. It may not be enough. So the real question is whether you're okay with losing with Kyrie and whomever else we build around him rather than having increased our chances by taking back LBJ.

Personally, given the uncertainties, I'm for maximizing our chances.

This can be placed in the Lebron thread. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are now that the Summer of 2014 shall soon be here. People are starting to flip their story so lets see what's up...

Unfortunately you cooked the poll by titling the first option "Yes, if it means winning a Championship"

Where's the options "Yes, even if we don't win a Championship"? lol

How did we forget about these facts? Lebron trashes our team and people, sticking it to the front office, and finally bolts in FA. Good riddance.

I don't want that guy back here either. But the question is whether he'd still be that guy. Maybe so, but maybe sometimes people learn things. Something finally got into his head in Miami about playing that didn't sink in here. I think the loss in 2011 really was a wake up call to him. He started playing a less selfish brand of basketball, developed a low-post game -- all things he was too immature to do here in Cleveland. Whether he has otherwise matured is something I'm not sure we're in a position to know.

But Windy seems to think he'll be back, and Windy is a smart guy who is a lot closer to LBJ than we are. WIndy's also suggested that Lebron regrets how he handled that whole situation, so in that respect, he's clearly not the same guy who did those things. Just out of curiosity, how would you feel about it if he did a "I'm sorry I did you wrong" speech" as part of a return to the team?

Nope, can't stand the jerk. As much as I want a c'ship, I think we can do it without him. He would be praised from here to kingdom come if we won one with him, and I can't stomach it. Not to mention he's a quitter. One of the best in the world--no doubt--but a quitter, and I don't want a quitter on my team. He can stay down in South Beach instead of tainting our team with his bullshit and negativity again.

I'd like to believe that too, but I just can't. The guy is just trash. He was raised with absolutely no moral values or common decency. I hope I'm wrong, but I think even if he comes back, it's for nothing other than to feed his own selfish ego.

No one knows ahead of time what the Kyrie era will bring. Assuming that however we build the team going forward will not be enough is a bit premature. LBJ makes any team better, but it is also an uncertainty that he could get us a title. People have so little faith in the organization it's pathetic. We all know what kind of person LBJ is and what he did to the city. That video that someone posted above of him "apologizing" was not an apology. It was a justification of his shitty actions. Is our team really not good enough for us fans without LBJ? Are we already questioning the legitimacy of our franchise two and a half years into the rebuild? One thing that is for sure, is that LBJ doesn't give two shits about Cleveland and he never will. I had to watch the last two seasons including that long ass, shitty ass 26 game losing streak. IMO fuck that shit, we've gotten this far and we can do the rest without that piece of trash. After all, we do have Kyrie fucking Irving.

People cyrin about a ring at no cost already forget we probably would have 1 if he didnt quit in the celtic series thats stuff you cant just forget. Also i would hate the credit he would get by espn and everyone else kyrie and the front office will get zero credit zero, dont believe me look at the heat

Get the heck outta here with that mess.

See Mike Miller game 5. NBA Finals
See Shane Battier game 1 and 2. NBA Finals
See Dwyane Wade game 4 and 5 EC Semis
See Chris Bosh game 7 ECF
See Mario Chalmers Game 3 (iirc) NBA Finals
See Norris Cole 1st and 2nd Qtr Game 3 (iirc) NBA Finals

LeBron was the lead dog and deserves the credit for that, but that team won the title and got credit.

A healthy LeBron with a healthy Kyrie would guarantee at least one championship.

Especially considering the landscape of the NBA a year and a half from now, and all the other assets the Cavaliers have....it wouldn't guarantee a title but it's about the closest you can get to guaranteeing one.

Are we already questioning the legitimacy of our franchise two and a half years into the rebuild?

GTFO. Who's "questioning the legitimacy of the franchise?"

People have so little faith in the organization it's pathetic.

If LBJ does end up back here, wouldn't that be because the exact same organization in which you have so much faith decided to bring him back? Are Gilbert and Grant worthy of our faith only if they agree with your view of LBJ?

Look, I don't like the guy either. But I'm willing to wait until 2014 to see/hear what happens before deciding that there's no way I'd want him back.

"So the real question is whether you're okay with losing with Kyrie and whomever else we build around him..."

This leaves me to think that you believe the franchise is not a legitimate team on its own and is already doomed. You think LBJ is something that would rid the the team of that notion to make it a legitimate contender. I completely disagree with this. I think we have a franchise that can build a contender with Kyrie Irving and without LBJ.

However, if the franchise decides to bring him back, I would support that decision 100%. I am not going to hope, get excited, and wait for the possibility of his return. As far as I'm concerned we don't need that bitch and we'll be fine without him.

50 plus years without a title, and Cleveland fans still want to pick and choose "how" they win a title. To the point where they won't accept a homegrown talent (one of the greatest ever) back on their team and give him a chance to make amends. Pretty sad, but in all honesty, it doesn't surprise me. Cleveland fans are the best in the world....until things don't go their way, then all bets are off. The excuse that it's been so long since we've won doesn't fly. If James is willing to come back, every single Cleveland fan should be on board.

Just how I feel.

He has made it abundantly clear Cleveland was never his home.

He can distance himself from Cleveland all he wants...but he will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever (is that enough for you?) be able to change the fact that he is from Ohio.

He has made it abundantly clear Cleveland was never his home.

I thought that too, he made it clear he hated cleveland growing up and always claimed akron stop with cleveland being his home please.

I guess when somebody renders your argument moot, the best thing to do is just ignore them.

He was raised in and went to school in Ohio. Down the road from Cleveland. Whether he likes it or not, this is fact. Hence, he is a homegrown talent. For fuck's sake, get over your bitterness.
