I'm assuming the same people saying GSW is unbeatable were the ones saying how tough Atlanta was going to be.

Memphis beat them twice. The Rockets played them essentially even on the road, but couldn't quite pull it out. They will be tough, but Klay is struggling and we have been playing excellent defense.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Game 3. The Warriors played a solid game, but the Rockets were awful. 33% shooting. 20% from deep. Getting demolished on the boards. Houston look like a team that was burnt out after the emotional Clips series and a couple of heartbreakers in GS.

Golden State has had an easy path to the Finals. Houston plays zero defense and allows Curry open shots. Notice what the Cavs did to the three point shooting of Atlanta? How about how we took away Chicago's will.

The Cavs are physically tough. Those that are worried about Golden State sweeping the Cavs need to grow a pair. I mean, c'mon.

The Cavs are battle tested. Golden State is not. No one has even laid a hard playoff foul on Curry.

Stop worrying and start believing.

For those worried about matchups (specifically, Curry)...what if we just say fuck playing a PG?

Have Shump guard Curry
Have JR guard Klay (or Barnes)
Have LeBron guard Barnes (or Klay)
TT on Green
Moz on Bogut

I doubt Blatt would do it, but those matchups look pretty fine to me.
Honestly this is what I think we have to do. That lineup has enough offense to keep up with the Warriors and the defense would be stellar, especially the 3 point defense, considering that all those players have statistically defended the 3 well.

Then we can bring Kyrie off the bench who would destroy the Warriors bench. It sounds weird to suggest that Kyrie should come off the bench but he's hurt and would be an extreme defensive liability guarding Curry or Klay. I think this lineup would be very effective against GS.

We aren't playing, man. We're just posting on a message board.

There's no doubt due to the injuries of Love, Kyrie, & Varajao + the relative health of GS they're the favorite.

But with that said, LeBron's ultimate goal and his legacy (destiny, if you will...) is to bring Cleveland a championship. When he gets within 4 games of that... and 7 chances to do so.... I won't count him out. I have faith. I believe.

Don't understand what the hell Houston was doing with Curry: they had this Johnson kid on Curry or Terry on him all night. Was waiting for McHale to put some length on him like Ariza or Brewer but never happened.

That being said I can't believe how no one is mentioning how much the Rockets are missing Beverley. This left an ancient Terry on him for the first half where the game was done. This made it even more baffling they never went with length on him. I just don't see the Cavs leaving such a mismatch for Curry to exploit

Warriors come out to play.....Warriors come out to plaaaaaay.

You Warriors are good. Real good.

Follow the formula. Tight coverage on the three point line and get physical down low and control the glass.

Old school Rep.

Yes!

This is fun. All the times these message boards went empty, quality went unchecked, sparse talks about anything positive regarding sports. This is what it's all about. A lot of interesting opinions and angles in here.

No... Unlike gs we have a dominant slasher and dominant post player in lebron. If Irving gets healthier you can add another good slasher.

Gs has not one big men or perimeter player that can score well on post ups or slashing. They literally are a jump shooting team and I think we match up well with them. Jump shooting without slashing and post scoring isn't a championship recipe no matter how dominant their 3 point shooting is.

Well my friend they're about to sweep their way to the Finals, and have lost a whole 2 games in the Western Conference Playoffs doing it. So this theory is about to really be put to the test.

And by the way, Steph Curry is actually quite good at getting to and finishing at the rim.

Completely agree Shump on Curry, the head of the snake. If he gets going, then mix with LeBron on Curry.
I am not confident with JR on Klay. I would start LeBron on that assignment to let Klay know that this is going to be a long series. This will require a lot of energy from LeBron, but it's critical that we keep their big 2 out of rhythm.
That leaves JR on Barnes, who is their softest starter by far. If they try to run offense with him as their key cog, I would be ecstatic.
TT on Green is tough. They are going to pull TT away from the hoop simply to keep him far away from the glass. It'll open up the paint too, but if Green is shooting tons of long shots, as long as they are somewhat contested, that's something we will gladly concede.
Moz on Booger. Goliath versus Goliath.

Flip it around now:
They have to put Green on LBJ. He is the only one strong enough to slow down LBJ: Bringing Back the Post. I think Klay gets mentally abused and curls up like a potato bug if he tries to bang with LeBron down there.
Klay on JR: sucks for JR.
Steph on Shump: not gonna find a reliable advantage there.
Moz on Bogut: really need Moz to sink that 15 footer from the baseline while playing in the thunderous confines of Oracle Arena.
That leaves Barnes on TT. I don't think it's as simple as "ok the plan is for TT to grab 7 offensive rebounds." I think GS will dare us to exploit this, then quickly collapse and force TT to make quick decisions. They might even front him at times, while pinching the ball. This is going to be tough but we have to figure out a way to use this to our advantage, while not relying on this matchup to win the series...

I see Iggy being the other player who will be counted on to check LBJ with regularity. Now this is where Blatt will have a chance to steal game 1: we play well small w Delly but I don't think it'll work on Curry or Klay. See, Teague, and Rose for that matter, are guys that it makes sense to go under the screen on most times. I think Curry will give him fits. We can bait them with Delly on Barnes when on the court together, or maybe Delly on Iggy. The point is that we have to rotate players, so when we do, we are going to have to hide them and help them, especially Kyrie, if he is still not OK.

Man fuck this drunk post. It's simple: to have a chance we need Shump to be on Curry, we need Blatt to have an ace up his sleeve, we need LeBron to not turn the ball over, and we need some balls to bounce our way. And someone (Mozzy is my best guess) will have to go Blanca on these fools if we're gonna shock the world.

Sack up guys, its pathetic to not believe in this team and even worry about getting sweeped. We might be coming in as underdogs, but we've got a real chance here to win it all. The Cavaliers have the best player in the world and even with the injury woes we've still got a very good core group of guys who are physical and play with a lot of heart and grit.

And I will say this, I can't wait to see that doubt start to creep in on the GSW player's faces. The growing realization that maybe they won't be winning this year after all. That maybe they are just another in a long list of LeBron playoff victims, lured into a false sense of security by the constant fellating from the media and never having to taste real adversity until the very end. It would be sweet justice and the perfect cherry on top of a long awaited Cavaliers championship. I sure do hope it happens.

We need lebron offensively. I don't think we want to waste his energy on klay or curry
