Golden State had the easy road to the Finals, just as we did in 2007 and Atlanta did so far. The key is to play hardnosed defense against them, like Houston did tonight and Memphis did at times.

I like our chances if we get the Kyrie of old back. That's why tonight's game is so key. Win tonight and Kyrie gets two weeks of rest.

Solid Post mult.

I have heard their defense is predicated on switching, and they are masterful at it; forcing opponents to seem like they're running up an escalator that is heading downwards.

A LeBron vs Curry series, with LeBron being considered the underdog; then halfway through LeBron's quest, the media is going to flip flop and say LeBron is still the undisputed best player in basketball period.

The problem with that Orlando series was we didn't have a soul who could guard young Dwight Howard. We had LeBron, they had some chumps that tried to guard him but he put up other worldly numbers in that series too. The loss was because ultimately got shelled from deep. Casual fans of basketball will think "oh the Warriors that's going to happen again because they are so good at shooting 3s!"

LeBron is the player that Golden State has no answer to. Draymond is a really solid player, but think LeBron doesn't recognize all this attention Draymond has been getting. "THAT'S TOO EASY!" LeBron could quickly teach this kid a thing or two physically. If Bron decides to go all Akeem on his ass and get up in that post, it's going to set everything else up for our team.

Don't forget about Kyrie. He needs one last performance. Seriously, that's all it might need to come down to. Even guys like Jimmy Jones, when they hit 1 or 2 shots to break the ice and keep the machine greased it really helps our team.

I'd actually be really content if Bron penetrated the middle of the lane, or posted down low and shot 15-20 baby jump hooks per game. This is not going to happen, do you guys trust those shots he puts up when he gets deep position and decides to go for a hook shot instead?

If James decides he's going to abuse GS in the post this series could get really interesting. That takes a lot of energy out of LBJ, but if he can command attention down there, it can warp their defense; then LeBron will perform surgery and pick them apart with his court vision and passing ability.

We really can neutralize some of their role players. If we're over aggressive on defense and they are passing the ball we're in trouble. If we're too lax on defense we're going to get rained on. If we're too aggressive guarding them, the whistle is going to go against us.

That, and fatigue are going to be the hardest part about this series.

What worries me is the depth mismatch, especially if Kyrie isn't effective and Marion stays buried on the bench. This Atlanta series has featured some seriously ugly 4th quarters because everyone (especially Lebron) was exhausted. Atlanta hasn't fully taken advantage because after injuries they were almost as depleted as we are. But the Warriors can go 10 deep. And little guys like Curry don't have the same kinds of fatigue issues as a guy like Lebron.

Maybe my vision has gone funny, but I was very unimpressed with the overall intensity in that game. Our players play as though every possession is critical, and tonight's game honestly looked regular season to me. Lackadaisical defense, no sense of caring about offensive rebounds, etc.. Houston in particular struck me as just about the laziest looking 2 seed I've ever scene.

The point total for a playoff game is ridiculous. Doesn't anybody play defense over there? Actually makes me think we have a chance, because there is going to be a huge step up in defensive intensity between the Rockets and the Cavs for GSW.

So Dwight Howard just swung his arm/hand wildly backwards towards Bogut's head - two game suspension?

And then there is ESPN showing the angle that fans the flames regarding Delly. Amazing.

Howard gets an automatic suspension if it's upgraded to flagrant 2. Of course it's better for us if he does play and gives Houston a chance to stretch the series out a bit longer. We absolutely need to win game 4 and wrap our series up.

GSW's defense is very turnover dependent. LBJ is going to have to be very cautious

JT Barrett is hurt and Ohio State is going to get smacked around by the bigger, tougher, more experienced, and more talented Wisconsin team with a Heisman runner-up. Ohio State is too slow and not deep enough to hang with the elite speed of the SEC's best in Alabama. Ohio State has never seen an offense like Oregon's, they will be lucky to stop them, led by the Heisman Trophy winner.

I'm a sports romantic, so the parallels to this years Ohio State football team in their playoffs and the Cavs in their own is pretty cool. Plus you know, the whole Urban Meyer giving the Cavs a pre-game speech a few months ago and all that...

Man I really think we can beat the Warriors...

Zero idea why teams don't allow them to drive all game and keep them off the perimeter ?? They look and look and look to that 3 line...

Even if the Cavs switch and someone like Tristan is stuck on a Steph or Klay, just play up on them so they can drive right by and make them take 2 points instead of 3 points.. Make them finish as many times as possible in the paint....

Also, if you limit Draymond and their bench, those other 2 can splash around all game long and you're still gonna put yourself in a position to take the game.

That Detroit team was better than any team we've played yet.

I'm all in 110% in believing we will win the Finals. GSW is a tough team, but far from the golden team everyone is making them out to be. They are very beatable. If a team as bad at defense as the Rockets can kill them in a game, you know anything is possible.

I'm interested in how they will respond to the big stage. Will they rise or fall? LeBron's used to it and been there several times and knows what it is about. This young team doesn't have a clue. Will they shoot lights out like never before, or will they start to feel the pressure like they never have before and play uncharacteristic?

Chicago really was a solid match up, they just suffered from Mike Brown syndrome: A coach who understands the importance of defense and gets his team to buy in completely, but COMPLETELY disregards the offensive side of the ball.

In the post season, I'm all about a 70/30 split, but guys like Brown and Thibedou who refuse to make offensive adjustments are infuriating.

I hope Cavs fans celebrate like this when they win a championship

We're talking about a city that hasn't been able to celebrate ANY major sports championship for over half a century. Let that sink in for a minute. Imagine having to endure that lengthy unresolved hunger and yearning to celebrate an ultimate victory, only to have your collective hearts ripped out of your chests on multiple occasions when you were a hair's breadth away from winning one.

The celebration in Cleveland would make the Maccabi Tel Aviv celebration look like the audience watching a chess match. The magnitude of the party in the streets would be epic.
