The rockets made them quit just like we made the bulls quit, they ripped out their souls in game 6 and it carried over to game 7, rockets showed amazing heart and character winning 3 straight gotta give them credit for not giving up.
(don't forget the clippers were a great team eliminating the defending champions ,they were no scrubs...)
I'm picking the rockets over the warriors to reach the finals, this team will be a nightmare for the warriors.
Houston big's will destroy Warriors bigs' on the boards on both ends, josh smith playing out of his mind on both ends will help a lot - Smith/Howard will destroy Green/Bogut imo
Klay Thompson will face his biggest's challenge in the playoffs and that's guarding james harden, that will exhaust him and reduce his effectiveness on both ends
Trevor Ariza good 3&D guy, he is a great long defender and will cause big problems for Harrison barnes
The only clear advantage GSW has is obviously curry vs terry, that will be a slaughter if they left 1 vs 1, I wounder what Kevin Mcale will do with that match up (maybe brewer who is a good quick defender)
Regular season is way way overrated , the playoffs is a new season.
6'3 curry will not be able to carry that team vs a very long and athletic houston squad
Good luck with that, and I give you props for picking Houston and explaining why at least, even if your reasoning is a bit flawed.
Curry doesn't have to carry them. The Warriors are really good, they are really deep. They got a lot of weapons, and lot of guys that can step up.
And the only advantage is Curry? Seriously! This team won 67 games, and is the most well rounded and balance team remaining in the playoffs.
Harden is going to be facing his biggest and most difficult task yet. They are going against the best defensive team in basketball. Klay Thompson is a great defender, that moves his feet really well, and can stay in front of him. He's got a challenge ahead of him going against Klay.
Worst of all, Harden is going to be forced to guard him too, which I don't think he can.
The Houston offense isn't very original or creative, and if they get stagnant against a defensive team like the Warriors, they are in shit load of trouble.
The only true advantage Houston has, is Howard. He can slow the game down, and make it ugly, but you have to trust Howard will dominate, and to me, that's never a given.
If Houston tries to play uptempo, they will get their doors blown off.
I don't like the match up at all for Houston. If they play the way they did against the Clippers (throughout the series), like this against the Warriors, they have no chance.
Their comeback was remarkable, but overall in that series they didn't play very good basketball. Their defense was atrocious.
They got to play very discipline and sound basketball on both sides of the court. Something they don't do a consistent enough basis.
They need a miracle to pull this off. People keep wanting to doubt the Warriors, and they get sick of the media and others slurping over them. Sure, they've not won it all yet, but this team is really fucking good.
It's going to take a lot to take them out. Not sure anyone remaining in the playoffs are going to do it, including us.
I hate Harden and Howard, but I am going to be forced to root for them, given I like our chances against them, much more than the Warriors. But I don't see it happening. So if Houston wins, it'd be fine by me. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery personally.
