A closer look at Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm worried we'll be on the outside looking in on this kid unless we start losing some more games.

NJ got better
Detroit has been better as of late
Toronto has 2 less wins than us
Sacramento has 2 less wins than us

Ohh, we got worse. Let's split the pair and assume 2 of those teams will leap us in the standings, giving us the 6th pick.

Davis
MKG
Drummond
Barnes
Robinson
Beal/Lamb/Awesmeness

Assuming a lot of these freshman return... more like Davis, Barnes, Robinson, PJ3, Sullinger, no one. But that's just the realistic situation so it's fine ;)

I'm just being a Chicken Little. I really feel like Beal would be an excellent fit on this team and losing out on him would be unfortunate (if the top guys like Davis, MKG and Barnes are off the board).

I like beal As much as the next guy but the reason I think lamb is a better
Fit is cause he has a better 1on1 game and more defensive potential
From what I've seen of beal is his game taking his man off the dribble
All the way to the rim is not on par with lamb. Lamb has 20ppg potentiAl
I think because he has all three levels elite 3 point shooter and mid range
And he is good at the mid rang as well as comming off picks. The plus
Is that he isn't ball dominate and dosent pound the ball ala Carmelo he is
Decisive with the ball

So you're betting on a 2% lottery chance hitting two years in a row?

Not happening.

I bet you think scratch off tickets are your retirement plan too.

Yes... errr... I mean no. No, right? Umm, they shouldn't be, right??

Dammit. Stupid fortune cookie....

It's starting to look like the Cavs will need to have a better draft selection than where they currently are to have a shot at Beal. Here is a quote from Chad Ford's most recent chat from earlier this afternoon regarding Beal's draft position:
Question: Chad, which player(s) in the Sweet 16 can do the most for their draft stock?

Chad Ford
A big game by Bradley Beal could propel him up a few more spots. Right now he's No. 4 on our Big Board, but I've had several GMs tell me in the past few days that he's their second favorite player in this draft. If they could hang their hat on a couple of big games down the stretch, he could get there. Obviously Perry Jones really needs to redeem himself after a tough first weekend in the tournament. If Dion Waiters keeps playing well, he could keep rising on our boards as well.

I've heard rumors that MKG and Drummond were both returning to school. Has there been any word if Beal / Lamb plan to come out?

Starting to worry some of these guys will stay in school and by the time we pick it'll be scraps.

Um . . .why would Drummond and Lamb stay in school? The NCAA banned UCONN from the 2013 NCAA tournament? UCONN certainly doesn't expect them to. They are worried about even losing Alex Oriakhi, and multiple other "defections" if the ban stays in place . . .

He's suggested he would a couple times, including here (http://www.zagsblog.com/2012/01/07/drummond-says-he-plans-to-return-for-sophomore-season/). But we'll see what happens from now until they have to declare...

K. That article is pre-ban. But of course no one knows.

With that said. I'd say it's important based on what he says what happens to Calhoun (ie he wants to stick around and play for Calhoun). Calhoun is going to turn 70, missed eight games this season with back problems . . . is he going to stick around for a likely postseason ban for academic shortcomings in 2012-13 and try again in 2013-14? I just don't see it. Nor do I see them staying after the mess that is their situation.

They have one recruit allegedly- Omar Calhoun, and are otherwise allegedly struggling heavily to recruit. It just turned into a situation I cannot see the upside of playing for?

1. Barnes
2. MKG
3. Beal
4. Lamb
5. Ross

Those are my top 5 wing players for the draft.

I'll go

1. MKG
2. Beal
3. Barnes
4. Lamb
5. Ross

Right now, where we're picking, I have Lamb (Jeremy) ahead of Beal, but not by much. I like Lambs size and the fact he is a combo guard. Beal is gritty, rebounds well for a 6'3 SG, can shoot, and excels in transition offense. Take a gander at Eric Gordon's (Beals best comp) freshman year. Eerily similar to Beal (%'s)

A guy that has dropped from my top 10 is Drummond. Sorry Dre, you disappeared this year more than my DNDN stock. 2 points against Iowa was the icing on the cock.

He's 6'4.5" in shoes. All players' measurements are listed in shoes.

Why do people keep saying:

"I would love to get MKG..."

or "I would love to get Davis..."

How about talking about players that we actually have a chance of drafting?

Are these peoples' statements false? Do they not want to get MKG or Davis? We have a chance of getting them. If we keep on losing and get into the 4th to last place, we'll have almost a 40% chance of getting a top 3 pick, and, if we don't get it, we'll still likely have a top 5 pick.
