The Cavs vs Bulls Series

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was living in chi when they drafted Gibson. I'm fine with him of the bench because of Gasol. I hated it when Boozer was around because I thought Gibson was better. Not as natural a short but he can hurt you from the post or mid range. He has to be one of the better defenders at pf in the league.

Funny, I totally agree. When Gibson comes in the game I actually always am like "damn, here we go" because the guy is so patient with his post game and his D is just rock solid. And he is physical too, he will abuse guys that don't bring it.

He just knows how to play. He is the one guy who could be sort of a problem for us down low in a series.

Gasol is good but he just doesn't scare me, I've seen Lebron push him off the block before. Noah again great player, but his offense is not a threat at all.

I mean, lets be honest about Bulls fans, they need to find excuses for something that bad.

Their team was +30 from the 3 point line, held us to 39% shooting and they still lost. At home.

We played maybe a C/C+ game and it was still enough to win on the road. Gave up 46% from the floor, 42% from 3 and somehow scratched out a win. It was very playoff esque, in terms of grinding out a game in which you just don't have your best.

I knew the Bulls fans would find excuses. Can't fault them for it even if it's completely silly to make excuses for an early season contest. They lost their best player in a game where they needed to storm back to win, but still lost. Not having Rose was obviously detrimental, but I hear very few people stating how, at one point, they were outscoring the Cavs by 14 late in the fourth quarter without Derrick Rose.

Maybe Rose plays, but who's to say it makes that much of a difference in the overall outcome? If Rose plays, Hinrich and Brooks are likely non-factors, so who knows if the Bulls win the game or not.

The Cavs had their own roadblocks. They were on a second night of a back-to-back where the first night was a huge event that took a toll on the players emotionally and mentally. Add that to the natural physical toll a back-to-back can take on a team and the Cavs had their own set of obstacles to overcome.

These two teams do not play each other again until January 19th. By then, the Cavs will be much more acclimated as a team. So will the Bulls. That game will give us a much better read on these two squads as they match up.

It's silly for either side to make excuses for an early season loss, especially when both teams are still trying to learn how to play together.

I agree that if Rose was in: Hinrich and Brooks wouldn't have seen as much time and they both played well.

Butler is a more legitimate excuse. Lebron just kind of goes right around Dunleavy without needing any help from a pick. Butler would have been much tougher on defense. That being said I wanted the Cavs to pick and roll more: Lebron/Love is the pick and roll duo I've been waiting to see and I'm expecting it more when Lebron has tougher defenders on him

I have always thought Gibson was a complete rock. He scares me more than anyone and is relatively durable. Seems like the perfect piece on a contender. However, one thing that has not been discussed is the fact that Chicago got 10 more blocks... That is a crazy differential

Now i see why the bulls didn't trade butler/Mirotic for love. Butler is turning into a star and Mirotic is the real deal.

Yes mirotic with 4 fouls in 8 minutes, clearly too valuable in a trade for an Olympian, perennial all star and gold medalist

Butler and Gibson are the real deal though

Butlers improvement is impressive bulls better get that max deal ready

Butler looks incredible, one of the best 2 way players.

Haven't the Bulls never paid the tax? I wonder how that will effect bulters future there.

If it makes anyone feel any better, Chicago is getting taken to the woodshed by Portland right now.

Love how Rose is jacking them 3s. :chuckle:

Chicago is now one game behind us in the loss column.

Chicago's strength of schedule has also been near the bottom of the league.

Ours is in the top ten.

Bulls are looking scary. Butler is playing like an All-Star at SG and Mirotic will likely win ROY if they give him enough minutes.

I'd kill for Butler to be on this team. He's probably the best all around SG in the league.
