The Cavs vs Bulls Series

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
bulls fans seem to be hyping their rookies, are they worth the hype?
I like Doug quite a bit. I don't know enough about mirotic, but I hear he is an excellent shooter at 6'10" but not much of a rebounder. What is ridiculous is when reading their forums you would expect to have a few rational somewhat unbiased posters. You would think they were going to steamroll us based on their analysis.

I think if you polled most analysts, or rational basketball fans, we would be considered the favorites. We have people here though that try to not have the homer glasses on. Basically they need a rich on their forum.

If we go small against Chicago that would help us a lot, imo.
Love won't have problems guarding Noah as he is very limited offensively and not a force in the low post.
James guards Pau EASILY:

I don't think you want to do this for a long period of time. I was watching that video and it didn't look easy for lebron to guard Gasol. Don't get me wrong he can absolutely guard him. But Lebron was using a ton of energy there. I don't think we have to go small ball that much because our regular line is going to cause so many problems for them offensively. Just think of how easy the game will be for lebron when he is playing D on Mcdermmott and dunleavy. And think of the easy transition buckets when all he has to beat out is one of those guys.... And if they put butler on James who are they going to put on Waiters?

Rose missing a lot of at the rim shots off his quick drives this tourney. And the bulls fans think he's the same

I have a question for loyal fans from the late 80s and early 90s:

How did it feel to have Michael Jordan destroy what little you guys had left in your heart demoralizing defeat (88), after demoralizing defeat (the Shot), and again and again (92 and 93)?

My guess would be it was 100 times worse (at the very least) than the 2003 Michael Jordan who hit his final game-winning shot against us as a goddamn silver Bullet...

With that question (hopefully answered), I wonder how it would feel to have that same issue put on the opposite foot?

In the early part of the rising Bulls dynasty, the match ups were intense, and mostly in the Bulls favor.

At center, an older yet wise Bill Cartwright pushed around the good-yet-not-tough Brad Daugherty. And Horace Grant was able to negate Larry Nance. That left Hot Rod against guys like Brad Sellers (pre-title) and Stacy King. Ron Harper, Sanders, Ehlo, and Price were somewhat decent, but no match for Pippen, Jordan, Hodges, Paxson, and Armstrong. What was worse was that was all we had to starve off the Bulls. One Mahorn elbow to the Pricey head revealed our true colors, right?

Let's exercise some match up crunchers:

The center position seems clear. Joakim Noah is the better, tougher guy in the series. I don't think Andy or Tristan have anything on him or Taj Gibson. The biggest thing is not the offense. But rather stopping penetration from guys like Kyrie, Rose, and LeBron.

Actually, a big key to the series will be the match up between Pau Gasol and Kevin Love. Can Gasol still be the effective player he was in the last decade with the Lakers? Kevin may have difficulty guarding him, so there might be cross match ups. On the other hand, I think Love's shooting is THE X-factor. On the other hand, how will Doug McDermott and Mirotic look at the end of the season? Hmmm...

The big men are where the comparisons end. We will have our traditional silver bullet of our own who had already terrorized a lackluster team in the early part of the decade. LeBron is too much (especially when on from the outside) against Dunleavy, Randolph, Butler, Snell, and Brewer or whoever the hell they have. We also have Dion to boot who has some actual talent, toughness, and "AYE!"

At point guard, that is where the difference lies.

They once against have Kirk, but we have Kyrie. Maybe we should ask Mark Jackson (run-of-the-mill above average PG) how it would have felt to guard a fusion between Isiah Thomas/Rod Strickland and Mark Price who happens to be much taller. What will possibly change the tide will be if Derrick Rose will have Mark Price's health or actually show some resiliency. He needs to show much more skill if he doesn't want to end up like Steve Francis.

It's a pretty important debate that might show up later, but showing bias now may not help.

Bulls suck. Cavs win.

None of the Bulls fans seem to mention this but Gasol has worn down by playoff time as he's gotten older: His last 3 playoff performances he put up a PER of 17 which is decent but a far cry from his regular season PER of 21.5 (in his younger days his playoff PER tended to match his regular season PER). He may be able to see his minutes cut during the regular season with the Bulls but he's also playing for a notorious coach in Thibs who wears down his players and is in the middle of a likely deep run in the World Cup. Pops always felt that playing in the summer hurt SA going late into the season.

The Bulls really need some very unusual things happen to have a chance to beat the Cavs: they need Father Time to reverse with Gasol and Father Time to do the opposite with Mirotic/McD and have them play like they are older then they are.

Sprinkle in the fact we have 3 literal facilitators with PG skills and each can shoot the ball from distance at a 40% clip. Love is an amazing long ball specialist coupled with his premier rebounding which will counter weigh Noah & Taj as we will be a threat to fast break every defensive rebound.

Chi's starting 2 guard is one dimensional with horrific shooting numbers. Rose is a shell of his former self thus far with barely any miles on those knees. 40 games in with the massive court length and the wear and tear from thinking he is still the man coupled with chasing PG's around don't bode well for him come play off time.

KI / Dion/ James/ Love/ Andy > Rose/ Butler/ Snell/ Gasol/ Noah

Delly / Harris (Ray?)/ Miller/ Matrix/ TT <?> Brooks/ McDermott/ Brewer/ Mirotic/ Gibson

I see nothing to be afraid of at all plus those dam refs and their superstar calls we will receive.

We are multi tooled and highly skilled at every position on our starting 5 Bulls can't remotely lay claim to such.

Defense is effort and those lights at the Q will be brighter than ever no where to hide for our players & team.

Delusional! lol

Rose on his FIBA play:

"I'm loving the way that I'm playing," Rose said. "Of course missing shots, that's part of the game. But just conditioning-wise and how I've been playing defense and low turnovers the last couple of games, I'm loving it. I feel like me picking up fullcourt, really getting into people, running the team (helps) me knock this rust off along the way for the regular season.

"I've exceeded my expectations. I'm not sore. My knees are good. I know a lot of people are concerned about that, but I think I'm playing well."

Rose is shooting 25 percent (8-for-32) and has missed 9 of 10 3-point attempts in Team USA's five straight pool play victories. He is averaging 5.4 points in 17.8 minutes.

"Missing layups, that's little rusty stuff that normally comes with not playing for two years," Rose said. "I know I'm missing because of conditioning. I'm in good condition. But to be in condition to play defense like that fullcourt and still have legs under you for the shot, that's my thing. But I'm not worried about it at all."

what's he being delusional about? and from what ive seen last few days reading these boards, your probably the most delusional person here, kind of not your place to say anything. so is rose being delusional about how his own body feels? is he lying to himself? beside that, i think he's look very good out there. has all hs explosiveness back, the body control, making athletic plays, making nice passes, playing elite defense (albeit against nobodies)

have you not read anything here? theres a whole lot of self righteous, ignorant, completely biased, uniformed posters here. the reality is that most sports fans are that way.. especially today in age, alot of close minded thinking

You want none of this. Just hit the ignore button clown you are so not ready for the shit talking.
well, missing shots and slumps happen, especially when you've ben innactive for a while. thats really not a concern, like at all, not even a little bit considering how smooth hes looked.. and ouch, you really cut me deep there. i weep.

Call a whambulance he is in need of tissues. Missing bunnies does not constitute a slump . Grow a pair he should have said he is a work in progress and he will concentrate more on finishing at the rack. Not he is happy with shooting 25% that's plain bull shit his ass is up nights in cold sweats wallowing in self doubt.

some one's got some serious issues ^^

I am awesome and enjoying KI looking like the future while DRose is looking like a former shell of himself. Your the one crying instead of reasonable Basket Ball talk and good conversation. Sure appears your the one with issues arbitrarily random talking shit to people you don't know.

Your as oblivious as Rose is with his self appraisal of his performance while representing his own Country in Int. play.
