Re: Heat Discussion

We could go to another thread and talk about the Cavs... they also played tonight.

I mean have it, but you guys can argue all night about who is alive, a corpse or a zombie for the fun of it.

Would love to talk about the Cavs but I'm pretty sure there was no way to actually watch the game so I don't have much to say except how displeased I am at the Mary Kay tweets.

Re: Heat Discussion

Windy tweets:
  • Final: Cavs 87, Bobcats 72. There is life after LeBron James less than 20 seconds ago via web
  • Cavs 70, Bobcats 62 after 3. Small ball a success vs. Char, but won't work against, say, Boston 34 minutes ago via web
  • Cavs going small with JJ, Jamison and Moon with Ramon and AP about 1 hour ago via web
  • Joey Graham and Ramon Sessions are going to get plenty of minutes this season about 1 hour ago via web
  • Bobcats 47, Cavs 43 at half. We've got issues about 1 hour ago via web
  • Danny Green's block of Crittenton layup was a crowd pleaser if not quite the chase-down fans have gotten used to about 2 hours ago via web
  • Scott has called Gibson his best defender. Locked up in 2Q battle with DJ Augustin, who followed Gib at Texas. OK, maybe not ''battle'' about 2 hours ago via web
  • Second unit of JJ, Gibson, Woods, Moon and Green isn't working. Charlotte on 8-2 run about 2 hours ago via web
  • Cavs 27, Bobcats 17 after 1. Ramon Sessions looks like he has run this offense forever. Byron Scott loves the fact that Bobcats shot .238 about 2 hours ago via web

Re: Heat Discussion

Pretty sure it was Mary Kay, not Windy.

Damn I'm going to miss Windy. His in-game coverage was the best. The blogs in-between quarters/halves and the tweets made the game experience much better and more interesting. Hopefully his replacement follows suit with the blog.

Shit that sucks; it did seem different. I can't believe I'm saying that about twitter. I, as well, hope we get a good replacement. :(

Re: Is there a stream of the Miami preseason game.

Surprised so many are watching or even interested in this game. I have trouble watching more than a few seconds of anything to do with the Heat and can't even look at LeFraud's face.
The only time I'll be seeing the Heat this year is when they play the Cavs. Can't contribute to the hype and overexposure of this circus which is bad for most of the league in the long run.
I agree, for the pre-season at least. But I'll admit, I'm going to tune in to every nationally televised game with Miami. Of course I'll be rooting against them, but it's just hard not to watch. Do I like what they did? Obviously not. But not watching what is likely going to be one of the best teams of all time simply out of spite seems like a waste.

Plus I want to see Z:cool:

Re: Heat Discussion

Anyone know if Z is injured right now? Why didn't he play tonight?

For the same reason we loved him in the first place. Loyalty. All of Cleve's knew he wasn't gonna mean a lick of shit, but we love him anyway. That's what loyal fans do. The Heat will never play Z... That's just a fact. If they do, it won't be for glory, it'll be for shame.

Fuck Miami.

Re: Heat Discussion

I thought this was a Heat discussion thread.

Re: Heat Discussion

ESPN is raving about how raucous and wild the atmosphere was in the building at Miami tonight. They made sure to show the powder toss as Lebron has brought it with him to Miami.

As a Cavs fan more than even missing Lebron I think I will miss the big game atmosphere that surrounded every game for the past few years.

It's amazing how Lebron transforms places from dead zones to the life of the league when he arrives on the scene. Miami couldn't fill up more than half the arena last year, and now they have sold out the season already and the crowd was treating a preseason game like the NBA finals.

It really is crazy how much of an effect 1 guy can have on an organization to take them from zero to hero and back again just by his presence or lack there of.

Re: Heat Discussion

Wade out with a ham string injury. Karma is rearing it's head.

All I know is this, if the Cavs make the playoffs this year, hell, if the Cavs were the 5th seed like the Heat were last year, I would die of shock if I saw clearly empty lower bowl sections during home playoff games no matter how little of a chance we had to win the series. The Miami Heat fans are, in a word, PATHETIC and completely undeserving of the talent their team has incurred.

Re: Heat Discussion

I forgot the cHeat even existed, thanks for reminding me though....

Re: Heat Discussion

I love how Lebron in his post game press conference made sure to point out to the media that they could see out there how easy it was for him to have guys around him that can make open shots, or get shots for other people, and that that he doesn't have to worry about doing everything himself because of that.

He really is just basking in the glow of life playing for the Heat right now and continues to subtly point out how much better things are for him. I may be over-analyzing, but I think he makes comments about the quality of his roster now as a jab at what he perceived as the Cavs failure to surround him with adequate talent.

Just imagine if the Heat actually win something, it will be even that much worse as he will certainly remind everyone who will listen that he would have won it sooner had he had a GM like Riley committed to surrounding him with Championship talent where he didn't have to carry everyone else. The Smugness will increase 10 fold from an already out of this world level.
