Amar'e Safari 2015 Reboot - Fooled Thrice

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

This trade deadline is pure evil. Ditching friends, breaking plans, ignoring loved ones, pulling all-nighters... All for the sake of new trade rumors.

But when those little details leak... The malnourishment and bloodshot eyes are all worth it.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

If Miami takes on J-Rich with Amar'e, they wouldn't be doing anything in FA next year....assuming they re-sign Wade (which I would think he would, if they got Amar'e).

But now I guess it comes down to how much PHX values Beasley over J.J., and how much $$ saving Sarver needs.

Get 'er done Ferry!

I don't even see why they'd agree to take on J-Rich. He can't play small forward and there won't be enough minutes between him and Wade at SG. They'd need to bring in a third team to make that even plausible, and we'd be more willing to take on BOTH Amare and J-Rich due to both of them filling a need.

I don't see how Miami works this one out, Beasley included or not.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

Celtics want young talent for Allen

The Boston Celtics discussed a possible trade for Caron Butler(notes) before the Washington Wizards decided to send him to Dallas. The Celtics also have inquired about the availability of Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis(notes), Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Martin(notes) and Philadelphia 76ers swingman Andre Iguodala(notes). None of the talks have become substantive.

The Celtics would likely include Ray Allen(notes) in any big deal, but have made it clear they want an upper-echelon young player in return, regardless of position.

The Celtics also reached out to the Phoenix Suns about Amar’e Stoudemire(notes), but don’t have the means to get a deal done.

Silly Boston....why would they want Amare.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

Well, that's very encouraging news.

It tells me that the Suns are trading Amare, and that right now Cleveland and Miami are the two destinations.

If Miami doesn't take J-Rich(which I highly doubt they do), then it's up to $arver...Money or talent with documented off the court problems. I like our chances here.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

A trade of J. O'neal/Beasley for Amar'e/J-Rich works.

O'neal is an expiring. If they send 1 or 2 #1 picks along with it......I would do it.

Would that deal beat Z (exp)/JJ/#1 ? Probably, unless you threw in another player like West or Green, IMHO.

This one could go the distance!

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

So if Miami has the edge, the only thing we can do is agree to take Richardson. I think I can deal with that. That way Miami can stay miserable, we can be happy with Amare, and we add in an okay shooter who can be straightened out by LeBron...
Yeah, we just need Ferry to continue to be willing to take Richardson. If he doesn't change his mind, we should have a pretty damn good shot. If he changes his mind we're fucked....it'd be a very bad time to gamble on being able to get Amare alone.

If Miami takes on J-Rich with Amar'e, they wouldn't be doing anything in FA next year....assuming they re-sign Wade (which I would think he would, if they got Amar'e).

Yeah, if they take him they're basically waving the white flag on free agency.

BUT! They know if they don't take him, he's going to Cleveland and will surely re-up with the Cavs, obviously eliminating him from the free agency sweepstakes. That, combined with Bosh looking like he wants to stay and LeBron doing the same.....maybe they will pull the trigger on a deal with J-Rich?

I mean, would Wade really be happy if he wasted multiple years of his prime to get stuck with...David Lee? I don't think so.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

This is crazy. I wonder if the owner will really force Kerr's hand that way.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

Keep in mind, though, that we don't exactly want J-Rich either. That's most likely why we want a third team. That, and to find some more young talent to give to PHX. If we can find a third team, why can't Miami? We just need to make the move before Miami can. If it means taking on J-Rich, so be it, he's not all that bad of a player, after all...

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

Well, Miami could always say that taking Amar'e now and eating JRich's contract is better than taking a gamble and entering FA and not being successful in recruiting a major impact player.

Too much madness going on. The more time that passes, the stronger our competition's play for Amar'e becomes. I hope Ferry can just piece something together and get this damn thing over with.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

I like this Sarver kind of guy. He needs the money badly and we're one of the only teams, maybe even the only one now, willing to take on extra salary. I just hope Kerr doesn't get his way and convince him otherwise and try to whore Amare out for more talent.

Take the money and run... We won't judge you.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

$arver is the same guy who basically put Luol Deng and Rajon Rondo up on E-Bay on draft night and ordered Shaq to be traded for cap relief.

His main source of income is from that team.

Money is a big, big, BIG motivator here.

If $arver deals with us, I bet Kerr resigns this summer.

Whether Phoenix values Beasley over JJ is a moot point if the Cavs are willing to take on Richardson's salary and the Heat aren't. If that is the case, Sarver will hopefully override the decision of Kerr and we'll get Amare/Richardson.

Then after the season, Kerr will step down as GM realizing that the Suns are the new Clippers.

Re: Amar'e Safari trade thread

Damn, how is Miami even willing to take on all this money? Have you seen their attendance when they don't play teams like the Cavs? It's like a D-League game...
