Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think I'm starting to understand how he's getting limited.

The massive minutes he's playing is actually the reason for the toll on his body, not the age. He can't keep up with his "Wild" energy. When he was utilized as a 6th man, it was perfect because he was using it all in shorter time spans. That doesn't work once you turn into a full time starter. As a consequence, there's not much we can do for him. He's the best defender, but too tired most of the time at the end to reach the spots.

I believe the Cavs are using this massive production to try to showcase him, and prepare for the retaliation of the fan base and players at the same time.

But that's just me...

Byron just needs to give Popovich a call and learn the proper way to give old guys rest.

The fact that we are still talking to minnesota and they are very interested in AV has me very convinced the talks are bout Pekovic and not dwill. At this point dwill isnt getting you alot in a trade and a reason they are reluctant to give him a big contract this off season and AV is signed for a couple more years under 10mill. The question then would be do you guys think the cavs would be willing to pay pekovic 12-15mill a year? He is a young center 3rd season already averaging 15-8. He would fit in perfectly with Thompson

I wouldn't exactly call him young (Turns 27 in two weeks). For me, i'd rather keep Andy than pay a guy a three years younger than he is more money for longer. Pek is a pretty good player, but at 12 million I think you have to pass, as that's more than a much better player, and younger player got on his contract (Ibaka).

On the BS Report, Bill Simmons had Zach Lowe on and they discussed Andy in detail. They said that one possible deal that has been discussed was the Perk, Toronto's 1st for Andy. Bill Simmons said if OKC threw in Jeremy Lamb then the Cavs would really have to do it. They made arguments for and against trading Andy (good guy in the locker room, only 30, affordable contract but the Cavs have only 5 wins and he is at his peak value). Zach said that both teams have probably kicked this deal around a little bit.

They said if the Thunder get Andy, that the NBA Championship is their's to lose. Both Bill and Zach laughed at the notion of the Celtics trying to trade for Andy.

I like that trade but i think we take pj3 at least also and they wont trad elamb i dont think. We would have enough amo to get Len and shabazz if this trade happens. Our pick will be top3 for sure without AV and toronto will land in the top 3-5 (a calderon or bargnani trade maybe for gosal gets them there). With the 4 or 5 pick and the lakers pick we would be able to move up and get 2 top3 picks.

irving
waiters
shabazz
Thompson
Len

Thats an athletic lineup with great spacing on 4 of the 5 players. The way Len plays he can be a 15-9 guy and shabazz is a good 3rd 4th option

People need to stop thinking that trading down in the NBA lottery happens, we arent going to move up

I know why they laughed because they dont got shit to get Andy. That roster is trash and id be surprised if they survived the 1st round.

I'm just gonna say that the Wizards traded their pick for Mike Miller, and leave it at that.

andy, boobie for perkins, toronto pick, lamb, reggie jackson or maynor

AV for the Toronto pick is enough for me honestly.

Whatever fits around that exchange to make the deal work for both sides is simply filler. AV<->Toronto pick is value for value. Us taking on Perkins would require them to sweeten the deal with another asset, ie Lamb, PJ3 or Maynor.

With that said, I highly doubt OKC parts with the Toronto pick. It's a lottery pick.
