Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In today's PD, Pluto writes that Varejao has been officially cleared for all basketball activities and will be ready to go at the starting of training camp. LINK.

Not that this is unexpected but still good that it's confirmed.

:chuckles:

No kidding:

The Cavs need Varejao healthy. They need Kyrie Irving healthy. They need Dion Waiters healthy. They need Andrew Bynum healthy. They're banking on a lot of injury concerns to clear up and everything to come together in a special soup. Varejao's not so much the onions as the base of that soup, that's Kyrie Irving. But he's definitely the carrots. It's really important that they're not moldy, or the whole thing is ruined. No one knows how this soup's going to come out, but you have to be excited to taste it.

Probably drafted this while eating lunch at Panera.

They want Bynum/AV tag team to=one center with Zeller as the backup.

Varejao recorded his first turnover of the preseason tonight. He ain't perfect.

He is so important to the success of this team. When he is on the court we are just so much better. I am praying to god he makes it through the season without a major injury this year. It could be the difference between playoffs and no playoffs.

I agree. Defensively about all they have is varejao. With out him they don't make the top 20.

Don't forget, he is the definition of MB's defense. He is so important to this team's success...

I understand the excitement about the young guys and all the rookies... but for real... why is Andy discounted?

If you've ever watched him on a play to play basis and you've played the game of basketball at even the street level... what is there not to like?

Watch him. He covers very well... runs the floor... hustles after every singly ball. Honestly, this guy is a fucking beast that any team would love to have.. He puts himself in familiar situations and takes advantage of it.

Andy is the perfect man on any rotation. You literally can't ask for more. Byron said he is the heart and soul of this team. He was at least right about that.

Andy played too many minutes last night. We have to take advantage of opportunities to go small with Tristan and Bennett, or suck it up and ride Zeller a few more minutes, because Andy's health is vital to a winning season.

Cavs don't win that game without Andy last night, but I agree. The Cavs can't play him that much if they expect him to be in once piece in the spring. Hopefully Bennett and Zeller get a lot more burn in the Charelotte game this Friday.

Their theory could be that Andy's injuries are all accidental and fluke injuries despite the proximity of them. Also, Andy isn't getting as banged up as before. He's taking more jumpers and letting Tristan do more of the dirty work, which is good.

Games against Brooklyn, Miami, Indiana, and Chicago are the games where Andy will be logging this many minutes. I'm pretty sure you'll see his minutes more limited against weaker teams.
