Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was worried he wouldn't show us the spin move, and then it came, resulting in a turnover.

His jump shot and athleticism are the most impressive things in his game. I think in time he will be a very good shooter. His handles and his iq really limit him however.

I'm not so sure it's his i.q. that's limiting him, he's simply put in a situation where quite frankly he's in over his head, especially with Rubio out.

No, his decision making with the basketball leaves a lot to be desired. I have seen him try and split two defenders 22 feet away from the basket using a spin move while picking up his dribble; that time of decision making is piss poor.

He actually gets bailed out with a call, but lets say that he was successful, what would his options be? He could raise up for an extremely off balance jump shot, or he can pass the ball; again being off balance and probably resulting in a turnover. He really has no idea how to attack a defense. He will just barrel in full speed and either go to his step back(actually a good option), or a lot of times go to his extremely out of control spin move that more often than not leads to a turn over or a tough field goal attempt.

His ball handling and basketball iq are definitely huge caps on his potential.

sorry, i thought you were insinuating that he just didn't have a good head for the game. I will definitely agree that his rawness and inexperience is shining through on the offensive end, and it definitely shows when he's being counted on as a number one or two option.

I certainly don't think he has a head for the offensive end of the floor, especially in the half court. He doesn't really know how to read a defense and his ball handling skills don't afford him any extra options. Basically, I don't see a superstar prospect at all, and never did. I think he can become a really good player by focusing on being an excellent defender and more of a complimentary offensive player. With his measurements in athleticism and a pretty decent jump shot, he can carve himself out a night career in the nba, and a lot of teams would most definitely value the contributions he can bring. I just don't think it is in his cards to become a dominant offensive force.

I see your point, but i still he could be shaped into a very potent weapon as an off the ball option. You said it yourself, the kid is a freak athlete and by all accounts also a very hard worker, so from day one you drill the kid on running off the ball, using screens, cutting to the basket etc. accentuate the strengths and hide the weaknesses. right now, he's on a team where it's very tough for him to do that especially considering how inexperienced he really is, but on a team with more of a veteran presence and more prolific players to take away some of the attention he gets i really do think he could flourish into a tremendous player.

I should probably also note, that while I was against the Love trade to begin with I am not in any way suggesting that we would be better off with Wiggins. The allure for me was always to hang on to Wiggins and try to pick up Love later on. He would look faaaar better on the cavs in a more diminished role than he does right now on the Wolves.

It's surreal that we had Wiggins once upon a time. My god, when we think back to winning that lottery.... during that finals series, we'll remember the breadth of events that lead to our summer of hoops glory.

I still remember when we won the #1 pick, ESPN shows James in his locker getting focused before the game, someone comes over and whispers something in #6's ear.

I think at that moment in time, you could see in James' eyes, his mind drifting in another direction, I think that's when he knew that his next move was now truly out there on the horizon. I think he had thought about it, it just never became real until that moment when we won the lottery.

Not to completely derail this thread, but here's the craziest facts Cleveland could ever spit pertaining to luring LeBron back home and the Cleveland curse.

75% of the time that James was away, we won the #1 overall pick. 3/4 years.

What casual fans don't understand: We lost Anthony Davis to a coin flip. A mother fucking coin flip. If we got Anthony Davis, LeBron would have told Miami to trade him back to Cleveland last year! This whole situation feels like it was somehow destiny.

We were happy as clams to have a crack at #1 in the deepest draft since 03. LeBron still seemed like a complete fantasy. Jigo would have signed his name in his own blood that LeBron James was never coming back to Cleveland (Tlyons too).

As Clevelanders, we were happy to have won anything, we were smitten to take the #1 overall pick in the draft. I think history will forget that Joel Embiid caused David Griffin to have a prolonged 2hr erection as he tore the fucking rim off the Cleveland Clinic Courts. To you older posters, that would be like (no sex from your wife) and suddenly Kate Upton has you in the breakroom and she's offering up a titty fuck and a free blow-job.

How do you not take it? Principles, character, promises be damned! You just take it, right? You just take Embiid, or forever be flaciid.

Point being, Joel Embiid was the most tantalizing hoops prospect since Kevin Durant. He made 10 ft seem like a Nerf closet hoop. And wouldn't it be Cleveland's newfound luck (some might call it destiny) to pass up on the Kate Upton blowjob that was Joel Embiid.

His knees revealed themselves to us one week prior.

The electric Canadian comes out wearing an electric mariachi suit, does a little pirouette in the lane, we all get hard (for a minute) and meanwhile LeBron James was thinking at his locker (back then) that Cleveland now had the ammunition to make that big trade that we never made in a decade.

Cleveland gave up something to get something, and now we're a powerhouse.

Andrew, I'm sorry I used your thread like a personal jizz rag to commemorate Cleveland's historical change of luck and scenery You were a big part of it Andrew, thanks.

I need a cigarette.

I think he scored nearly all of his points after the Wolves were down 35 points :(
Wouldn't really take away much of this game. Losing Rubio has really hammered the Wolves

Long time fan here,
I was just wondering for some time, what if we resigned deng for a 1 year deal and spencer hawes and took a chance for Love next year.
we would have a stretch 4/5 and a good SF/SG , Lebron could play as a PF/SF/SG since he's so versatile.
wouldn't it have been better? Clear cap space next year and that's it.
I look at Love right now and he's like helping cause he's playing as a Stretch PF and giving Lebron and Kyrie the space, but he's not hitting his shots and his defense is mediocore.
I think this move would have been better and we would have had a better bench aswell.
What do you guys think?
I'm not sure about resigning both of them if we had enough cap space including Lebron, but Hawes would be sufficient enough for 1 year.
