Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also seems like they never run a play for him

Is there a book of plays tailored to guys that can only dribble in a straight line? If so, send it to Flip so he can call some plays for Wiggins.

But he's got the third highest usage rate on the team, so he is getting some touches. Shabazz on the other hand. Paired with Wiggins. Probably not a good pairing.

I'm just fairly glad we made the trade. I was high on Wiggins, as I was Embiid and Parker, but I did prefer Parker to Wiggins and so far early in the season you can see the fairly large chasm between the two on offense, and it isn't like Parker is surrounded by offensive wizards. I think Wiggins has got a long, long way to go before he can be a guy who can carry an offense.

Recent 1st pick PER's
Irving 21+
Davis 21+
Rose 16
Wall 15+
Griffin 21+
Oden 18
Bargnani 12+
Bogut 15+
Howard 17+
Lebron 18+

Bennett 6.9
Wiggins 9.6

Ouch don't know how we didn't curse Lebron as well. Actually we really hit (Irving/Lebron) or really miss (Bennett): nothing in between. (I'm being a bit facetious Wiggins fans: I think he'll do a lot better once he gets a real PG back and I think he has a chance to be a VC like player in his prime)

Watching this Wolves game, and Wiggins has made a lot of big plays in the clutch. I'm impressed.

Who could we have drafted other than Bennett who would have been a hit?

The answer is nobody, so my point is, you can't call it a "miss".

Maybe Noel he would of had the same impact as Bennett basically

Then again 2 more wins could have gave the pistons the 1st overall

3-13 shooting for 6 points.
1 rebound, 0 assist, 0 steal, 0 block, 2 turnovers
Next MJ, next Kobe, next TMac :celb (13)::celb (13)::celb (13):

He's really springy with incredible hops but NOT with the ball and cannot create with the dribble. He doesn't come close to making those electric plays in the open court that we saw from say a rookie James. Just not impressive with the ball.

I'm sure he'll improve, but I don't know how much better players' ball handling gets as they spend time in league--seems harder to improve than shooting. The T-Wolves play a lot of wide open (5th in pace) garbage minutes and you would think he would be able to rack up some stats but he doesn't. 14 games with 0 or 1 assist, 5 games with 1 rebound.

Zach LaVine is starting to come on strong. He's been the better rookie for them over the last 2 weeks. Liked what I saw of him in summer camp but it would be a shocker if he ends up having a better rookie year then Wiggins.

I've gotten the chance to watch Wiggins some now and I am not impressed. His athleticism is amazing -- not just hops but his speed and quickness -- and his shooting form is very good for a rookie. But he is just an incredibly tentative and passive player in all respects. It's not that I think he's lazy or lacks a motor...I think he probably wants to work hard. But he just doesn't seem to have any natural aggressiveness or will to dominate. He has a tendency to wander around aimlessly on the court, and only asserts himself when the move to make is very obvious -- a one on one post up or getting a pass on a spot up three pointer. He even lets himself get put out of position when he is screened on defense even though he has a big athleticism advantage.

I saw one play against LA where he effortlessly caught a fast break from behind -- just jetted ahead of Kobe and some other players like they were standing still -- and then just stood there not seeming to know how he could or should disrupt the shot. That to me summed up his mix of surreal athleticism and lack of basketball instincts or drive. Also very telling was his performance in the Philly game. There the Wolves were fighting not to get humiliated against the worst team in the league -- they had lousy competition and a whole lot at stake. But he utterly failed to assert himself.

I think with good coaching he could eventually be a good complementary player. But I don't see him as having the mental makeup to be a star. I do think the Cavs might have been a better place for him than Minnesota because he wouldn't have been asked to carry a team.

He's underwhelming so far,
zach levine on the other hand has alot of tools but he should look to pass more, KJ Mcdaniels and Parker are most impressive so far.
Shabazz Muhammed is a really efficient player aswell.
I'd trade Tristan for Shabazz

Did anyone see the Rockets overtime game? Wiggins took them to overtime and almost won the game during regulation by working in the post after some great put backs, and a couple tough shots.

He was aggressive and played some great end of game d on Harden, who has been a very clutch player this season.

Maybe he is passive sometimes, but I think this kid has it and he is still very young. He is definitely raw still, but the post game really surprised me. His room to grow is as large as anyone.

Agree on Lavine as well.

The thing is you can be a great athlete without being a great slashing prospect. Has happened with various other wings. Slashing is mostly a combination of athleticism and ball handling. It's why Tony Parker is an awesome penetrator and Gerald Green is not.

It's not a guarantee at all Wiggins develops to be above average at driving to the rim
