Is there a good reason why we haven't signed this guy yet? Seems like no matter what we plan to do with him he would need to be signed first.
He'll get the rookie scale contract regardless so it's not like they have to negotiate any stuff first.

This kid has not played a real single NBA game and we are putting him such a high platform. I like the kid and he has potential but come on he has yet to prove anything. I am not saying he will not be great but lets see what he does against real NBA talent. I like what his game could be four years from now as he has a lot to learn. The thing I like about keeping him is the hope the young Wiggins and the aging LeBron will merge as one great player and a dynasty will be built. Wiggins has a TON to learn before he becomes great. If he stays here he has a chance. If he goes to Minny he becomes a poor mans McGrady.

I don't know how this thing turned into a best player debate, but Davis will be a top 5 player this season. Truthfully, I think he'll be 3rd behind LeBron and Durant.

So glad he's stuck in the western conference on a poorly-run team for the foreseeable future. Shouldn't be a problem for the Cavs for a while. I do expect him to upset somebody in the postseason in the nearish future if/when he can actually get there.

Okay I will say it. You are going to see LeBron and Irving tear it up. The way the new CBA is set up you will have less super teams. Basically the east is on the rise this year and the NBA needs that I also think if we keep Wiggins we sky is the limit. Lets face the facts as the team already built around this time is amazing. We are not used to players taking cuts to play here. LBJ is here to stay and for gods sake enjoy the ride. This is the most close we are to a title either way and man it feels great!

I love the optimism and I agree with it, but I"m not sure why I was quoted as if my post regarding how good Anthony Davis is/will become is a bad thing?

Because we wanted him. I hope he is a top five NBA player because when I saw his game he is on his way. However no way will we ever trade for or sign A. Davis as some people think we will. Run with what we got and look back once one falls is what I say. I hope to see Davis in a play off series very soon.

Has a single poster even claimed this? No one is saying we're going to add AD to the team, he's been mentioned as top-5 player in the NBA over Kevin Love.

I hope to see Davis in a play off series very soon.

That would be in the Finals, so sure!

Agreed, but it really doesn't matter because LeBron wants Love, the T'Wolves want Wiggins, and the Cavaliers will hand Wiggins over to make sure LeBron is kept happy. It sucks, but such is life with LeBron James aboard & calling the shots.

What are you basing this upon? I mean, you're not ststing an opinion. You're presenting it as fact that the Cavs are approaching a trade or free agency, etc etc a crrtain way.

Sailfish is obviously putting his own (highly pessimistic) spin on what is happening and how events are likely to play out, and is also being highly selective in choosing what to believe, but everything he says has been rumored or speculated or believed to be true by some segments of the media, so it's not as if what he thinks is irrational or indefensible.

That said, I think we have to apply a bit more critical thinking in our efforts to puzzle this out. I have seen a few posts in RCF that have done this.

I think Cousins is and will be better than Davis and DMC is a better man to man defender than Davis.

I disagree entirely with this whole post and I'm a big Boogie fan. If you have numbers showing DMC as a better defender in any capacity than Anthony Davis I want to see them.
