Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Since I know its gonna come to this Jabari and Wiggy finished very close in PPG and shooting % for the summer league but the difference was Wiggins steal and block numbers. Also Wiggins didn't shoot near as much as Parker. Makes sense because Jabari is more aggressive and knew he was the best scorer on whatever court he played on. Buut Wiggins was by far the best defender on every court and at times him being out hurt the team so much it was crazy.

Imo tho thru the summer league Wiggins took it over Jabari.

Even tho Jabari did have some amazing plays that now knowing LeBron is here would make me think we should've drafted him instead, as part of the win now campaign.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

I think Wiggins skill set is much better for winning now than Jabari would have been. We have shooters now and scorers on this team. Having a more athletic guy for fast breaks and a better defensive player is actually the best fit in my opinion.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Jabari is still the crappier fit and there is only one basketball.

Wiggins' desire and ability to play defense makes him a better fit for winning basketball period.

Good analysis, but one thing I disagree with is the last comment. Jabari didn't want to be here in the first place. He took himself out of the first pick altogether.

Wiggins was the better fit if for no other reason than he actually was enthusiastic about the opportunity to play in Cleveland. I'd rather have someone on this team who wants to be here than someone looking to bolt the minute his first contract comes up.

Beyond that, Wiggins' defense and sheer athleticism are what set him apart from Parker. He is a guy who can still help you out on the floor on nights when his shot isn't falling. And I think, if you combine Wiggins' ability with Lebron's tutelage, your going to have a guy in a couple of years who will make the rest of the league forget Jabari Parker was even an option for us at #1.

We were going to win now regardless of whether we took Parker or Wiggins. I'd rather win with Wiggins. The kid is going to be a star.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

So glad he's stuck in the western conference on a poorly-run team for the foreseeable future. Shouldn't be a problem for the Cavs for a while. I do expect him to upset somebody in the postseason in the nearish future if/when he can actually get there.

Yeah, New Orleans is doing everything possible to turn Davis into LeBron during his first Cavs stint, only the Western Conference is so much tougher that he has basically no chance at making the Finals.

I really hope he's not in any trade.

Wiggins' ability on defense is the biggest differentiator to me. He has to work on offense between shot selection and handles, but he is a natural defender. Great effort and length. If he adds a but of muscle mass, I can see him defending all five positions in select circumstances. He may not go up against bruising centers, but I could see him guarding stretch 5s or guys that are soft in the paint. His leaping ability and length allow him to do that. I believe I read somewhere that his total reach is the highest in NBA history - higher than Shaq's. His jumping ability is a huge plus. We saw it in summer league - the guy can casually jump and have his head over the hoop. It's insane. The key will be building muscle mass while impacting that ability only slightly.

I think at the end of the day that Wiggins can be a monster on defense quickly. He and LeBron can be huge difference makers there. Hopefully it will rub off.

The other thing is that Wiggins can create space like no one I've seen. His leaping ability comes into play here again. This guy could have a vicious and unblockable fade. His jump gives him so much clearance and his balance is incredible.

The offense will take more time to grow, but I think he could be considered an elite defender before the season is over. His D may be what puts him into the starting lineup.

Andrew, it appears you are on your way out. I was always a huge fan of yours and hope you succeed, wherever you end up. Feel free to use my nickname, The Wiggy Warrior, in Minnesota. I am terribly sorry you have to play for Flip Saunders. Stay hungry, my friend.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Sayonara, Wiggins. It's too bad you're probably gonna have to go to the T-Wolves to wither away, a team that hasn't made the playoffs since Bush's first presidential term.

Holding onto the last glimmer of hope that this kid walks onto the floor with LBJ opening night, what a show these the two athletic freaks could put on for the league. How can we be the only ones that see this? Gotta keep The Wigs.

I am ready for anything at this point. I agree though the defense alone off the bat will be great.

For as athletic as he is, Andrew Wiggins doesn't really put out many highlight real dunks or moves, i'm going to blame his weak ball handling skills once again here.

The thing is with how open he would get off of LeBron and Kyrie he could average a highlight real dunk a night. Poor ball handling or not, the spacing and opening lanes he would have because of the focus on Lebron would be insane.
