Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Did you see his spin move into a dunk in SL? Athleticism is surely there...Handles, not so much

Yes, i've seen Andrew Wiggins spin move, he completes about 5 spin moves a game regardless of his position on the floor while picking up his dribble. This has got to me my favorite one. He tries to split two defenders with a spin move, picking up his dribble 20 feet away from the basket. Miraculously he got fouled, but that was a head scratching decision to say the least and probably should have been a travel. What were his options here had he not been fouled or have fallen to the ground? He could have taken an extremely off balanced jump shot, a ridiculously far floater, or maybe a pass that probably would have resulted in a turn over?

I feel really bad for this kid and his family. No 19 year old should have to go through all this before they even play a single game.

Me to. Shit has to be especially weird considering he is the #1 pick.

He's getting paid regardless. He stays in Cleveland and he gets to develop next to Lebron or he goes to Minnesota and gets to be the guy and centerpiece, which probably to him is more attractive of a prospect. He should feel pretty happy that people are thinking of trading him for a top 10 player already when he hasnt played a single game.

Getting 5 million to play basketball. He will be fine.

It's not about the money. Sometimes I think that's all you guys care about. It's about making major life changes when you're that young.

He just left college and entered the NBA, dealing with all the adjustments that come with that, in addition to the hype of being a top flight prospect...then he gets drafted by Cleveland, comes to the city and gets acclimated to the media and atmosphere, the coaches and his future teammates, only to be told he's getting shipped out to Minnesota and has to repeat the whole process all over again. It's not an easy thing to do, regardless of how much he's being paid.

thousands of people his age join the military each year so get the weak stuff outta here

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Fuels him to get revenge on us in the future... :chuckles:

I can see it now. We fail to get to the Finals for a few years and finally break through and it ends up beings against Minnesota. Then we get to watch Wiggins systematically tear through the paint and dunk on Kevin Love again and again as the Timberwolves rip out our hearts.

You know, tens of thousands of young men do that every year at his age when they join the military, and get paid less than 1% of what he does. They go to boot camp, follow-on schools, etc., and have to live out of a seabag for a few years.

boo-freaking-hoo.

Why? This shit happens all the time. Dion has been involved in trade rumors ever since early in his rookie season and it has persisted throughout his entire career. I'd argue that's worse than what Andrew is going through.

Ultimately these guys are still getting paid. It's not like he has a family and kids to bring along with him. It's just him. I don't feel that bad for him. It's unfortunate but it's better to realize the NBA is a business first and foremost sooner rather than later.
