Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins (signed)

We are over the cap now. Without Love. And will continue to be whether we trade for him or not.

yes we are but we also have a lot of guys still on rookie contracts that can produce and also the bird rights to all our young guys. So siging vets and scrubs around them isn't a big deal. The team now has vets in AV, Miller, Lebron, Jones, and possibly Ray Allen. The only thing the team needs now is a rim protector. The Cavs will probably make a trade alright but it sure won't be for Love. It will be for a rim protector.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins (signed)

We will be sorry we traded him. When Love buckles under the adversity or gets hurt in the ECF, and Wiggins is passing Paul George and Carmelo. When Love is exposed repeatedly in the playoffs as Boozer has time and again, we will wish we had our Wiggins back. When he becomes the best wing defenders in the league, and Lebron has lost a step, we will wonder if we could have won even one, while the amazing rebounder talks about his rehab, and how next year he won't be wearing a suit.

Seriously, Wiggins is the type of guy who rarely gets injured. He is too graceful. I just remember how we were dying to get Lebron his Pippen, and after all this shit, after all this garbage that has gone on, he is in the palm of our hands, and we will trade him away for scoring and rebounding. It has disaster written all over it.

You keep saying "when" but in reality all I see is: If, if, if, and if.

I've seldom seen so much pure speculation and conjecture casually passed off as fact. Does your omniscience extend beyond NCAA and NBA basketball? Do you also know how future elections, wars, and economies are going to turn out? At a minimum, I'm sure you're on your way to Vegas to put down your life savings on all these things that you alone know that the rest of us don't.

Look, I have my theories, beliefs, and yes, biases, too but I'm not that stridently committed to any of it. By my count, I've already been wrong four times today, seven times yesterday, and tomorrow ain't shaping up any better.

I gave up thinking I "knew" most things about 20 years ago. Try it, you'll like it. Us peons down here, going with the flow and not knowing the future...it's more fun than you might think.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins (signed)

You guys are all Heat fans 2.0 I get it. You want to stack the deck so far in your favor that you can't possible lose.

I see how this is a bad move just from the money and flexibility part. Once we have Love we are locked in, and we have 3 injury prone players on our starting 5. I don't like that, especially when we will HAVE to rely on them. Even if Lebron Misses time, but we have Wiggins, we will be able to win games.

I hope you guys are right about Love, but I don't think he is good in the locker room, and I know he isn't good on one end of the floor. I know defense is what we need most. Love provides scoring and rebounding, two of our strongest areas already, but makes us weaker defensively. I think the 5 is the spot we should be concentrating on, but you guys know Love will work out, so great. You are right, and I am wrong because I don't think like you.

I don't know that Wiggins will be great, but I was looking forward to watching him grow. If we make this move, we have nothing to look forward to, but a championship won by a team that will be the expected to win. Great. They won, big surprise. I believe in long term thinking, not the smash and grab. Griffin has shown already what he ascribes to.

I want a championship, but not at any cost. I already feel like Lebron hoodwinked everyone, and now he is pissing your assets away, and you are loving it.

I think K Love isn't going to look as good on a good team. Wiggins fits in great with a good team, but can softie Love hang? I warned people in Chicago about Boozer, but they all laughed at me like you guys are. "Look at his rebounding! Look at his ppg!"

After not winning a championship in 50 years, yeah I'd like a very stacked deck.

I would also call that Lakers 2.0(Magic/Kareem/Worthy/Scott/Thompson)(Kobe/Shaq)(Kobe/Pau/Bynum), Celtics 2.0(Bird/Parish,McHale,Johnson),etc.

When has the objective ever been anything other than to win and to have the best talent possible to put yourself in a position to win?

With the possible exception of the 2004 Pistons teams that have as much elite talent as possible win championships or appear in championships. In what strange world do you live in that a championship isn't as sweet if its won with elite players in their prime?

Love being not being able to lead a locker room bothers me now just about as much as Kyrie not being able to lead a locker room does. With LeBron, Andy, Miller, Jones, Allen, Blatt, and Lue on board, neither Love or Kyrie need to worry about that, at least for a few years anyways.

Pretty sure you are stridently for Love. I have seen you "smacking down" dumb posters for thinking its a bad move. 20 years ago you were a fool, now a genius. Kudos sir. You deserve it because you realize it is prudent to give up an unprecedented package for a superstar on a team with no leverage.

I don't do anything but watch the games. I watch him get back slowly on D, and grab rebounds out of Pek's hands, get out of defensive position to snag another rebound any of his teammates could get. I watch him get shut down with a physical defender. TT turned his lights out the time they didn't get blown out last year. This guy wilts under pressure, and the his best season was 77 games played. Play him physical and he's gone.

I am not scared of what any of you think. I have seen the best posters on the board be wrong. I know no one is a pro at these things. I am also not scared to be wrong. If I am wrong, then we win a chip. If you are wrong our roster is fucked for another rebuild. Whatever. No one is gonna give me "thanks" if I am right. No one will remember. Doesn't bother me at all.

Yeah, it would sure be awful to win two titles in four years. What a terrible goal.

Re: Andrew Wiggins (signed)

This goes to show me that I believe the Cavs have never offered Wiggins in any trade deal. Why would they just sign him and trade him a month later. I bet their offer for Love is like Bennett, all those guys they just aquired and 1 to 2 draft picks.

I wish rookies had to earn multiple millions in play. Granted, 5.5 is not a lot, contract wise, but start at 1 and work up...make them earn it. If a person cannot live on 1 million in 1 year, they need to have their money locked away.

Yeah, but in years 2-4 those rookie players are huge bargains.

I'm actually more inclined to believe that we signed him just so that when he's tradable in 30 days we don't have to send more players out in a deal for Love to make the numbers work. I'm sure someone with better knowledge on the CBA and all that stuff could go into greater detail.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins (signed)

why do u so many of you think Wiggins is getting traded now since he signed his contract? He was gonna have to sign his contract sooner or later. The Cavs are not going after Love. Just look at the roster already if you add Love and Ray Allen and trade Wiggins the only person on the roster that can play defense would be Lebron. Not only that but the depth would be horrible and we wouldn't be able to sign decent players because of being over the cap. Team would only be able to sign vets and scrubs. So again where would the defense come from? The Love trade is not happening.

I really wish this was true.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

man, GTFOH with those oranges when people are talking about apples.

No, they're all apples. All 18-19 year old kids. The fact that his future is so much brighter, and that he'll have financial security and glamour while other kids are changing tires, digging in mud, or sleeping in bunks they have to share with other people, doesn't make his situation worse. It makes it better. The idea that change over which he has little control is somehow worse for him because he's the NO. 1 pick in the draft is an absolute joke. It's like feeling sorry for a Kardasian because nobody can get her nails right.

We all wish we had those kind of problems.

I do think that there is something disrespectful with the way Wiggins has been promoted by the team and the genuine excitement of him coming here, only with this cloud hanging over head.

I can't even fathom what you mean by that word in this context. Disrepectful to whom, exactly? Or is "disrespectful" just a catch-all word that means "disappointed" or something?

Go on the Cavs Facebook page. any time anything about Wiggins is posted, there about 3500 "KEEP WIGGINS" messages, and 2 by some douchewipe that thinks it's funny to post Miami Heat championship banners and pictures of Pat Riley.

Oh, I get it. If someone else does something with which you disagree, that's "disrespecting" you. That is some fucked up shit right there.

I would like to see it be 2 of the guys they got from the Jazz (Thomas can't be included since his salary put the Cavs over the cap) with Waiters, Bennett and 1 or 2 picks to bring back Love and help them dump Barea. That is fair value imo for Love in the Wolves current situation.
